  1. I need to replace mine as well. Anxious to see what you come up with
  2. One of the things both of my rebuild jetaway’s do is need a warm up to go in gear. Apparently the oil can drain out of the converter overnight. Does yours do that, or can it be started and put into gear first thing? thanks!
  3. Here it is at rockauto. Same switch but you need to transfer it to your original bracket. I did one Bonneville but still need to do the other. I also need to find the switch in the column connected to the arm. It is tight compared to a new one.
  4. On a side note, I’ve had several people tell me they drove the 64 Bonneville over 120mph back when they came out.
  5. I don’t believe the shift down adjustment rod is your problem. If you disconnect it, it should still drive great except it won’t do a fast downshift on big acceleration. The more you tighten the rod nut, on the rod coming up vertically, the earlier it will shift into 2nd on hard acceleration. Again, If it was too tight(shortened) it will shift into an easier, higher rpm gear. So if you disconnect it or loosen the nut almost all the way off it will not shift out of 4th into second or 3rd with pedal to the metal. I think there is another issue causing your trans problem. I noticed the two I had rebuilt shifted hard from 2nd to 3rd but never ever slipped. As i rack up a 2000 miles it shift better. The only problem is the trans oil will drain from the converter overnight causing a decent warmup to start driving right. It is a known issue I guess.
  6. Not a bad price. I paid more ore one and a little less for the other. If it keeps working it was a great deal!
  7. Congratulations! Outstanding job. I’m so glad you were able to get your trans done by a local shop. Your wheels are total show winner quality!
  8. I have been searching for replacement pins to recrimp/rebuild the fuse panel. So far nothing. I think most people buy a replacement harness but the wire harness is fine except for the fuse clips which are rusted and pitted.
  9. Big day today! Christmas in January. The delivery of motor, transmission, and dash came. I spent most of the day taking the parts off the dash. Almost too many to list. I was like a kid in the candy store; clock, ignition, ac/heat controller, wiper switch, drive park display, lighter, ashtray lights, speedometer box, radio, speaker reverb, headlight switch, total wire harness with fuse panel. Tons of cool stuff. Now I have a dash for ac if I decide to add it to Bonnie #1. Tomorrow I will check out the motor and transmission. I can’t wait!
  10. Wow. I never noticed that. It is another seal. It mounts under the top rail
  11. My pleasure! This is another hood seal along the mother end. Check out the leather boot over the front wheel parts This is the original fan shroud. It seal off nicely
  12. Yes, My mostly perfect original has that. I would like to know where to buy one for the other Bonnie. I think maybe it helps to keep the hood from popping open at higher speeds. The clips to hold it looks unique
  13. I like to daily drive the car so I want it mostly stock. I don’t care for the deep idle that feels like a plug is out. Original heads with new rocker arms. High performance timing chain. New pistons .30 over. Standard bearings. I added a mild cam and lifters from edelbrock.
  14. Feeling a little freedom to get loose with current motor before pulling it. After school today my son says “floor it”! Now how could I say no?
  15. Treat him well. I think the transmission is the weakest link for the Bonnie longevity and performance. The motor can take some serious abuse.
  16. Mine was even worse. The weird thing was it would stop leaking in drive. I think it would be somewhat impossible to know which seal is leaking. There are so many on and around the converter
  17. I have an original on one of the Bonnie’s. When I get a chance, I will pull it off to take pictures and measurements.
  18. If you have him make 2 I would love to buy one. I bought one from opgi but it is about 4” to short. I’m not sure how much that matters but the car is running a little on the hot side.
  19. I can’t remember… do you have a shroud for your fan?
