Yes, it can be removed. You bake the headlights in your oven to heat up the "glue" that attaches the lens to the housing.

Then when the time is right, you pry it off, and play around inside. This is how I made my headlights black.

Truth hurts. Ecotec is lighter, stronger, and more support. Not that Im supporting the swap, but the reason for keeping the 2200 because of auto x... what factual reasoning is that? LOL. If they said its because they dont have the time or money for the swap, Id believe that to be a much more legit reason, and one that makes sense.
