  1. My dad and I secretly built a full race 79 Econoline van... And it will drift pretty well! Bored out 351 and a full race Borg-Warner T-10 top loader 4 speed, 9 inch rear..the whole thing had 1/2 a click on it from the night before when we drove it across the country! LOL The shifter fell off after 3500 KM due to a spring clip installed backwards... what a trip though!
  2. From Naples to here is 2 days and 3 hours give or take... that's no that bad if you like driving!
  3. That depends... will it be programed for good, or evil? I have a GPS with a wireless back-up camera, and I discovered that it will pick up other wireless camera signals, like surveillance cameras... I got a signal a few nights back and zeroed in on it till I could see my own truck... I loled. I was going through a small town a while back and I was getting a couple of the liquor stores!
  4. No no no... not mine, I want one but that is not mine... the photos are mine, and I tried to edit the first post with captions to say what's mine and what's not when I realized how poorly worded I made it but it won't let me... sooooooo... uh... Have a list for the first post. 1 Crash, my kitten I just gave away last night. 2 My 1959 Chevrolet Suburban Limousine http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3213305 3 my buddies 36 Chevrolet 5 window coupe, and a rare 1936 Covered Wagon holiday trailer that I delivered for him. 4 Local Mustang 5 This is a late 57 Mercury at a friends place 6 This is an abandoned farm that still has cars and trucks and machinery on it, the truck is a 51 Ford 7 A Calico kitten I had a few years ago before she was adopted 8 A nice custom Peterbuilt I saw locally once 9 46 Chevrolet grain truck I am going to check on in the summer, would be a cool body swap for an 86 Chev dually chassis I have 10 Tubby is a local hot rod COE 48 Chev 11 and he made good use of some hood damage 12 Early 30's McCormack-Deering tractor that is sitting in the spot it died in more then 60 years ago, only 10 feet off the side of the road, it's a local landmark 13 My buddies 1921 Stewart Firetruck from Canisteo New York 14 Car show photo 15 56 Canadian Dodge 2 door wagon with a Crazy Hemi 16 "" 17 Reliant Regal at a car show I help with 18 1921 Star, a car built by Durant 19 Nice 57 Buick 20 A home with a view... 21 Cool custom I saw at a local show, it`s made from a 55 Chev truck 22 The pedals on my 1923 Buick American 4 touring (I have a 22 and a 23) 23 a 1921 Gray Dort radiator 24 A screw lying on the running board of my 1922 Buick American 4 touring 25 A rad support on my 1922 Buick American 4 touring 26 the front of my 1922 Buick American 4 touring and some apple blossoms 27 My 1937 CCM Cleavland and my 1922 Buick American 4 touring 28 Local blown Cuda, this was my very first night shot and I did it without a tripod! 29 Local Roadrunner owned by a 16 year old! 30 "" 31 My cat Pekoe 32 My buddies work truck 33 The abandoned church in the ghost town of Cottonwood Montana, a place I like to go to when I can (love ghost towns) 34 Shoop 35 De 36 Whoop 37 409 powered International at a local show 38 the sky is broken, please make a note of it 39 This is Tobie, she was a drop off that I took in (thrown from a moving car as far as we know, she had a broken collar bone and lots of road rash when she showed up) she is sitting on my 1926 Ford model TT 40 That same TT where I found it, I am now the trucks 3rd owner ever 41 TT 42 TT 43 TT 44 Hauling the TT home with my old beater 45 TT at home with my 36 GMC and the 31 Pontiac 46 Some car... Post a link when you make that thread! As soon as i decided to post that i had a feeling someone (I figured you) would either say it or make it... LOL, thanks for not disappointing! Thanks so much, it's a constant uphill battle to have old cars, and more so when you have many, I wish I could afford a nice work shop to build and store them in... that would make all the difference in the world! So did I, and nobody around me when I took that photo had a clue... DAMN YOU INTERWEB! BTW, that spider is neat, 2 eyes, his face looks like a frog, and he was from outstretched leg tip to tip only about 6 mm wide... he's on a piece of cast iron that my U bolts on my 72 Chev truck go through, mine had cracked and I was putting this spare on and he had claimed it... I had to convince him to find new digs or be a permanent part of my truck, luckily he complied.
  5. 33? It let me post 40, then combined another 40 to the first post, then the next post I made had 40, but it somehow doubled that post quote and all... This is what I seem to do, I break things or make them do what they are not supposed to do without even trying! LOL
  6. ...I can't go back and edit the first post because the site for some reason combined my first and second post into one, and if I try to edit I have to delete half the photos... and I am too lazy today!
  7. I'm good at breaking things! Not all of these shots are of my own vehicles, mine are mostly still in the project stage, a couple I drive as beaters, and I have a bunch of nice survivour cars that I put insurance on for the summer and drive randomly. I'm adding captions to my previous posts after I post this. I was going to buy this 1929 Oldsmobile tree and all to plant in my front yard, but there was no way to get it without killing the tree outright... I was never quite sure what French baguettes had to do with a German Messerschmidt... but it makes me hungry to look at it! In the online comic "Lackadaisy" a Brick on a rope is the weapon of choice for one of the main characters (who is a little on the screwed up side) Being as the comic takes place during prohibition in St Louis and stars anthropomorphic cats I made this little tribute with my period correct car and Pekoe. Sweet Olds kustom My deck truck I built myself... is not amphibious! The brown 52 Dodge truck in the foreground has never been off the road, it has been going strong since new till it stalled and was abandoned at a grain elevator in northern Alberta around 1981, my dad found it in 82 and bought it, fixed the minor issue and drove it the 125+miles home... at 35MPH... without a plate... while my mum followed in her 53 Chevrolet 2 door. it was last registered in 1954, we use it to plow our snow and pull things A town not far away from me is very very auto-centric and is a great place to go cruising! This was an experiment with a night shot with a long exposure My 1961 Monarch The last 2 summers here were non-stop rain and snow... this is my 72 Chevrolet C/30 Longhorn The same Miata I saved with my 36 tow truck in another thread. My 52 Dodge again Saw this freshly restored Steamer not far from my house, it was pulling 1940's Diesel Electric and about 20 cars! Spot light on my dads 1946 Ford hearse Unrestored V12 Lincoln Dual Cowl Phaeton at a local museum. A friends mild kustom 62 Galaxie I love how my 36 looks like it should be in a horror movie... maybe one day it will! What is this I don't even...
  8. Thanks! I hope I'm not posting too many... Here is a rare shot of me, I am rewiring a 1914 McLauglan Buick. Wagon Burner, this is a 1950 Pontiac with hand formed wheelwells and a 57 Olds grill/front bumper owned bya nice artist I know named Gerard. Pontiac wheels on this Ford.
  9. Click here for that thread... finally...
  10. Thanks for the link Here Valid, being as posting photos of our cars here is not kosher in that thread I figured I'd make a thread tonight for my photos, I own over 50 cars and therefore have a ton of photos of them! (and I am going to try to post in sort of order, but I wont try very hard) But I just feel like sharing some of my crappy photos because I enjoy taking them, not all of these are meant to look professional or anything, some are just interesting or fun. this is Pekoe, I raised him from the day he was born, he breached feet first and was twisted and wedged and after his mother struggled for an hour to push him out I actually pulled him out to try to save her life as she was weak and hemorrhaging... they both pulled through and he has been my little buddy ever since! He was missing for the last 5 months and we all figured he had been eaten by coyotes or a bird of prey as there has been an abnormally high number of them this year... then 3 days ago I hear a screeching sound in my back yard as I was about to go to town, so I went to investigate... and he was just sitting there like nothing had happened! This truck started life as a 36 GMC a ton long body panel truck, and was cut off at the belt line and bobbed just behind the rear fenders, and then a 1937 Dodge truck cab was grafted in (I assume because the Dodge has a steel structure whereas the GM was wood) the top of the hood is 37 Dodge bobbed at the front to meet up with the radshell and the curved rear 6 inches of the hood sides re Dodge, the rest of the hood side is 36 GMC and the fenders are 36 GMC. We added a 1935 Chevrolet radshell (the GMC one was missing when we got the truck in 94) and a rare 1936 Maple leaf grill, 1934 Buick headlights, 1932 Pontiac park lights, 1940 Chevrolet park lights became my rear markers with red LED's inside them, and I custom built LED guts inside the vintage clear guide utility lights that I have on the deck as tail lights (they are ridiculously bright) I drive it a lot... I mean a hell of a lot! I drove it all last winter, all spring till I had to change the tranny, then once that was done all the rest of summer and on the nice days right now as I have no heater temporarily.
  11. I figured as much, it was a riot for me, even my buddy thought it was pretty cool, and blasting down the highway in that truck passing everyone was fun, it's no slouch! I am making a photo thread right now, I'll link in a few minutes hopefully...
  12. I hope that irony is in a good way... When it involves my tow truck I like to know what people think good or bad, because 99% of the people stare at it, but only 1% get it, and most of the rest are just confused by it. Same here! This is a cat that lives on my porch, we call him spare because he's an extra cat. (I love his expression here)
  13. If you go to the Flicker links I posted you can talk to the OP and find out how to find it if it's still there, I know I'd love to see some recent photos of it... hell if I was there I'd dig it out and examine it, it fascinates me for some reason! Not sure if posted these yet, but a while back my buddies Manly Miata died and I had to go save his ass off the side of the highway... I'd love to share some automotive photography with you guys if anyone is interested, if you guys want to see it should I post here or make a thread?
  14. I guess this site has issues with bb code... (I was able to go back and fix it though) The car is real, and it is out at Morro Rock, apparently winter storms washed the sand off of it when the photo was taken. What blows me away is the upholstery is still there and some of it looks just fine! Here are a couple of shots from a highway cam near my house from about 5 minutes ago... Uggghhhh...
  15. Anyone want a low mile Bonneville Wagon? Great for taking to the beach! (I think the 389 might flood occasionally though) ...let me know if that last post actually works, my net got super slow and it worked in the preview but now I see nothing... I fixed it, with SCIENCE! Here it is on Flickr for those who want to see it there... also Here and Here... OMG... I'm not incompitant!
  16. WTF, he gets $175 an hour on locomotives? Here a mechanic gets $180 and hour doing what you do! So many people use age or post count as a definition of penis size... I mean intelligence or worth... It's idiotic. Just because your older does not mean you are better, I have met some appalling older people... Hitler was 46 when he got into power, does that make him better then all the younger people he killed because he was older and must have known better? I'm getting off topic here, why even argue with a moron? at the end of the day you are stressed out over his BS and he is still a moron... nothing will change that. Nothing will change that, when I encounter this level of dipshitery (or Douchecanoeism if you will) I usually just walk away, because you just can't reason with ignorant asshats.
  17. Thanks for the kind words on my 31! Love the Bonneville, my brother is a member here (I think he joined) and he has an 02 Bonneville, good looking cars! This may seem like a silly question, but did Paul Swanson take that photo of your car?
  18. So I'm sitting at my computer about 40 minutes ago, turning MLP screenshots into porn like a pro, when I hear a noise outside... I live out in the middle of nowhere in a tiny ghost town that is basically just a row of 6 houses close together for no visible reason... so I go outside to investigate it under the cover of darkness... now I'm sort of a big guy at 6 foot 2 and 260 pounds, but I can be pretty quite and sneaky... so I slip through my house with the lights off (I like it dark) and got out the front door expecting to scare off a neighbours dog or something... and there is some guy in my damn yard near my truck, as my foot touches gravel he spins and sees me and books it... I was between him and the highway, so he goes deeper into my yard and off towards a nearby sideroad... so I run back into my yard and into my truck and take off out of my yard and down the side road, but I lost the bastard... took several trips around the block and up and down in front of my neighbours houses... he must have ran out into a field or something, but the strange thing is I did not see a car or truck anywhere, not even traffic of any kind... so where the hell did he come from? I wonder if this is the prick that keeps siphoning my gas tanks, I drive no fewer then 5 different vehicles right now and all of them have been siphoned repeatedly the last couple months, my 1 ton deck truck especially... last week I filled both tanks 4 times at $130 a fill... I am so pissed off right now... but at the same time I am excited, I almost caught this POS, maybe I scared him off for a while even... because this problem has been affecting the whole neighborhood for a long time, and we all have lots of cars and other things that take gas and they all get siphoned frequently. If I owned a gun I'm afraid I'd use it... BTW, the screenshot line was a joke...
  19. Thanks a lot, I wish we could submit a few and have a vote for what one is liked the most, I have a few that I really liked but couldn't make up my mind, so I went my my standby.
  20. I just got an email today saying I had 2 more days to submit, but the first post says they had to be in by the first??
  21. DO I detect some disdain towards Hyundai? ...can I join in?
  22. I'm so glad you all get it, the concept of an electric is great... as long as we ignore where the energy comes from and how we manufacture the vehicle... Hybrids are better in a lot of ways but we just don't have the technology to make that the answer yet. Driving style is a huge factor in mileage, I can get 22 MPG from my 72 Chevrolet C/30 Longhorn truck (292 HO inline six/350 auto) if I drive it right... I was driving it yesterday at 120kph and got passed by a Prius that had to be doing closer to 135... I think I was getting better mileage when she passed me. Last summer I got 22MPG for a very long stretch with my 94 Ford F350 with a 460 5 speed on my way to Montana, but I was very consistent with my driving and doing all the mileage tricks I could (plus great roads, high gears and flat lands help) this is a feat that most people say is impossible, but it's just not. I wish these eco car enviro tards would get a damn clue about reality.
  23. That hippy bitch is an idiot... I can tell you a number of ways that your car is greener then a Prius and greener then a lot of the other options out there.
  24. I think that T-shirt needs to be updated to "I run a bullshit operation from a Douche-Canoe" Best lines ever!
