  1. Wow - thanks for the honor and those that voted for my car.  I have to say Jigsaw put some serious work into that GTP.  It is a gorgeous car and I can see why it was a close vote (did I just brag on my car?). Thanks again!

  2. He's already done it on another Kappa Performance member's car - Elf. That was the prototype he is using for the kit. Still, doesn't hurt to ask though, right? Of course Elf's car is the model I'm looking to follow now since IBDRINKEN has his car up for sale (also another member). I just bought the AEM kit form Amazon - so now to schedule the install and tune. Dave does the tune as well (HP Tuners).

  3. I agree that the coupe was a great direction to go in and add power. Like anything done in the automotive world, it takes time to get the right combos done. Lutz said GM needed to stop being afraid of putting fat tires and power in the cars they build. Looks like they are doing that with the corvette and z24 cars. Bout time.

  4. you know what yu need........new TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Dave is supposed to release a ZFR kit this month (May). I will wait to see what he has to offer before going to PAW. I like the PAW kit, but Dave is local to me and if he has something comparable, then local it is. But right now it is meth/tune and then turbo. Trying to do this in stages.

  5. I know this is an old thread, but... I wished they would have aimed higher - and maybe that was the ultimate plan with Bob Lutz. Nothing like an American car competing with the likes of BMW and Mercedes - which the Cadillac does so well. Heck, I think it surpasses them in many ways. The Kappa platform could easily compete with the Z4 and SLK class of cars if they wanted in both standard and M4/AMG formats. That engine bay was designed just right - a supercharged or twin turbo six would fit nicely. Anything more and the insurance companies would kill that platform - like they did with the Fiero. They were looking to up the coupe to 315 HP in the next iteration of the car. I know there was a little infighting between the Kappa crowd and Corvette geeks. Don't look for it to come back.

  6. Ordered the DDMWorks Stage 1 Brake kit and Tune. Hope to get that by end of the week. I went with cross drilled/slotted rotors instead of the j-hook versions. I think I will regret that later. Waiting on Aftershock to send my rear spoiler - its being painted now. I will snag the AEM Stage 2 Meth kit mid May and have that installed by Dr. Dave from DDMWorks along with a dyno tune by end of May. I have a business trip to China coming up - not convenient when you want to mod your car. But then it helped me slow down on spending my money - for a little while at least!

  7. I see yu made it over from the Solstice Forum...HORRAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

I saw Alex and 2007 Sky and wondered if you were over there or not. I live on the Solstice and Kappa Performance forums - it's like crack cocaine. I saw this forum and really like it here - awesome focus on the Pontiac brand. Good to have friends everywhere too. I see so many kappas in Charlotte, but no group. So I'll go at it from the Pontiac perspective.

  9. Many thanks for the welcome! Dr. Dave from DDMWorks is the master. He will do my meth kit install. My dad bought a 2008 Saturn Sky and turned me on to the car. This car handles like a rocket on rails. It's hard to keep my foot out of the turbo. And for what you get, the current prices are insane compared to a Z4 or Miata. This is the perfect project car. I LOVED my '88 Fiero GT. This is better.

As for the set up, I have already set the car's plumbing up with a SOLO high flow cat and 3" Mach exhaust. Added in a DDMWorks intercooler and charge pipes as well. To get to 490HP, I will have to go with a ZFR-6758 turbo and eventually a bottom end rebuild. Carrilo Rods and Weisco pistons in an LDK series short block. Throw in a ZZP stage 2 cam and some other odds and ends and I can get 490 HP. With the Meth injection and a tune, I should be getting ~320 HP already. The LNF block is capable of 500 HP stock. The LDK is 600HP from the factory.

I agree, this power in a 2700 lb car is insane.

    My current modifications:

    ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN:
    GMPP Tune
    GMPP CAI
    DDMWorks Charge Pipes
    DDMWorks Intercooler
    DDMWorks Silicon Hoses
DDMWorks Oil Catch Can /w steel braided hoses
    DDMWorks Power Steering relocate
    DDMWorks Engine Coil Cover
    DDMWorks Short Shifter
    SOLO Performance High Flow CAT
    SOLO Performance Mach Exhaust

    SUSPENSION/CHASSIS:
    DDMWorks LVFCB
    DDMWorks Race Backbone
    DDMWorks Pro-Beam
    FE3 Z0K Springs
    FE3 Z0K Sway Bars
    Z0K Alignment

    EXTERIOR/INTEROR:
    Aftershock Rear Lip Spoiler
Kappasphere Chrome Domes (Chrome mirror caps)
    Opel Shorty Antenna
ASAP Graphics Backup Light and Fog Light Covers
    ASAP Graphics Side Marker covers
    Painted Calipers w/ GXP decals

    TO DO:

DDMWorks Stage I Brake Kit (ordered - maybe Wilwood BB kit in future)

    DDMWorks Tune (ordered)

AEM Stage 2 Methanol Injection Kit (ordered)

    ZFR-6758 Performance Autowerks turbo Kit

    DDMWorks Performance Clutch

Engine rebuild w/ LDK block/LNF head, Carrilo rods, Weisco pistons, ZZP cam, GMPP N Balace shafts, PAW springs

Staggered Rims and tires (Continental ExtremeContact DW)

  10. Hi,

Saw the board and had to join. I've owned a Pontiac in some fashion for over 18 years. My Solstice is the latest to hit my garage. I hated to see Pontiac go, just when they were coming back with some killer cars like the G8 and Solstice GXPs. Who knows where that would have led them? Another Solstice is in my future when I get this one done.

I'm in Charlotte, NC. Hope there are others around here. Maybe with a little luck and magic, they will come back to life.

Final goal for this girl is 490hp. Already started the journey. Methanol injection on it's way.
