  1. Finally got the project started looking to achieve 450+ rwhp. Dave said I can get ~470rwhp with my setup. Had a 0 mileage LDK block/LNF head long block shipped to DDMWorks in Piedmont, SC for the build. So it will go to them for:

    1. LDK engine swapout w/ Molnar rods and Wiseco pistons
    2. PAW WR-3 Turbo kit (BW EFR-6758 turbo w/ forge BPV)
    3. DDM 2.0L clutch kit
    4. BC Racing Coilovers
    5. Wilwood big brake kit

I also bought Forgestar F14s in Brushed titanium 18x8.5 front / 18x9.5 rear. Going to run 275/40ZR18s in the rear.

  2. Sorry haven't posted in a while - my Dad got sick and I had to help him out. He pasted away November 27 and I am still reeling from that. I was able to take advantage of some things and started my build parts grab. So I have DDMWork's 2.0 Clutch Kit, Performance Autowerks WR-3 Turbo kit (EFR-6758), Molnar LNF Rods, Weisco LNF 86mm pistons. I have decided to just go with a ZZP Gen III (LDK) short block and ZZP LNF ported head w/ Supertech valve springs. I'll start another round of buying next week for the rest of the internal stuff (GM balance shafts/main-rod bearings/timing set/etc.). I think the build will go down end of January latest - will have to see with my Dad's legal stuff I have to deal with. Might have to wait until beginning of Feb.

  3. There's a youtube of a solstice running this turbo pulling 463whp/443tq without methanol. I understand there is a point where fuel is an issue, but I believe that point is greater tthan 480whp. So with meth I sould be able to get to ~470whp with a bottom end rebuild. But I'll leave it at ~450 and call it good. That should be crazy power regardless.

  4. Just got an offer from a Sky owner to sell me his Perfromance Autowerks WR-3 ZFR-6758 turbo kit - that gets me the turbo I want.  The current clutch cannot handle the power I am making.  So...I need a clutch BAD.  Next buy will be DDM's clutch (500hp) so I can transfer that power to the backend. I'll throw some pics up when the turbo kit comes in. That will be a DIY project.

  5. Finally got the meth kit installed and a tune done - all I can say is WOW!! I gained 5lbs boost (to 26psi) and 5 degrees timing. Car pulls like a banshee now. The tune smoothed out the engine too. This is one of the best things I have done so far for the car. DDM also installed an AEM boost gauge and failsafe gauge in the DDM a-pillar gauge pod.

DDM just released their EFR-6758 kit, so that is next along with a new clutch. Too much power for the stock clutch. Last will be the engine build and I should be set. After a talk with Dave, I think I will drop my expectation to 450-475 whp. More than that will require fueling changes I don't want to get into. So with Meth, the turbo and an engine bottom-end build, I can get to those numbers on 93 oct gas. That's fine by me.

  6. Stock runs ~26lbs. So a decent ~9lb difference in weight. On another note, I like these too and they are bit less in price. Also in the color for my car.

Forgestar F14 - 18x8.5 F / 18x9.5 R. That would allow stock tire size 245/45R18 front and 275/40R18 rear. These fall into the same weight as the OZs. So that's a plus.  :clapping:

Pics show the bigger 275/40R18s for the rear.

  7. Thanks! There were over 65 cars shown that day with mine and a hot Hyundai Genesis the only modern 4 cylinders. Everything from a Hellcat / Z07 Vette to a 48 Dodge (10K original miles). Lack of the younger generation noted, but still. Once most started cranking up...music to my ears.

As for the paint, I had inspiration from a board member to thank for that (thanks JigSaw).  Happy I found out I have hard clear. But then that made it go longer than I wanted.
