The leaking plug was right over the drivers side motor mount...of course. all the rest are solid but i changed them all to brass. waiting on a kit from butler for the head plugs. However i have to take some blame here as i have NOT changed my radiator coolant in 7 yrs...

sooo here we are today the motor is out 1st time in 7yrs..iirc (and i probably dont) found a freeze plug core plug whatever you want to call it weeping at the beginning of the summer. only found it because i was chasing an oil leak. But these pics are a mod im doing to shoot a bit of oil at the distributer and cam gear. This is also an area where crap can build up behind this plug. this also gets rid of possible air pockets starving #8 lifters to starve from oil. Using a #60 wire gauge drill bit i drilled through this plug. This is helpful if using a composite distributor gear. I am not personally. Pontiac SD motors came this way i bet for a good reason.

i had a number for a guy in livonia i think that could widen them for custom backspace. i was looking to get a pair narrowed down for skinny fronts. he couldnt do that though because of the tapper. been looking for his number and havent found it yet. maybe Justa gave it to me?

i sold the comp cams lifters they sent me under warranty. i went with crowers and no complaints. my PRW rockers are coming out soon. My oil drain plug has a magnet on the end and i have been getting a toothpaste like build up of sludge. apparently this is also a known issue with prw. Why can't companys build good parts and just charge accordingly for them? Both cases i told my builder what i wanted and well it didnt go so good with his recommendations. Combined with metal not brass freeze plugs the reason the motor is coming out soon. The #1 reason i like to do all my own work. kinda like frostys Pontiac dealership experience with the ujoints and flex plate bolts. NO One is going to do the job as good as YOU will. Period.

Thanks again Frosty for the picker! yes i have the engine stand and picker hooked up. the wife is in my garage as well as the Master, Remi the boss. it would take a lot of Michelle to make this thing fall. Michelle is very much a bull in a china shop type of person and i really dont want her to get hurt.
