  1. I really like your interior lights! Can you set those on one color also..? because if so i think i may upgrade mine!

    Good progress!!

You can set them to one color. They also sell single-color kits.

i have the paint for them let me kno

O RLY?! We might have to do a little mini install meet soon, so we can get my calipers done and I can get your LEDs or neons or whatever you end up going with done.

  2. Alright, after having my G6 for almost a year now, I figured it was probably about time to start tracking this stuff. So! From the beginning, it is a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT with the 3.5L VVT (LZ4) and 4-speed automatic with tapshift.

Here she is mostly stock, after her first wash:

I said mostly stock, because these babies have followed me through three cars, and they went into the car 3 days after I bought it. They are twin 10" Alpine Type-S subs in a sealed box, paired with a Sony Xplod 1100W amp.

Most recently installed vid, the 4 piece, 7 color LED interior kit from LEDGlow. If you don't liek teh metal, gtfo

(Apologies for my camera's mic being fail, apparently it didn't like my twins in the trunk)

And, of course, the obligatory 36,000 mile pic:

For the future, I hope I can get my hands on HIDs (soon!), intake, and exhaust. There are other things I'd like to do, I'm still deciding how far I want to take this particular car, though, and of course modding is an expensive hobby.

Anyways, enjoy, I'll post up new stuff when it comes in and gets installed.

  3. BTW, is their an upgrade for the G6 calipers? Like to a dual piston? Or a four piston set, like a Brembo setup? Just curious.

lol... upgrade for the g6.

Other than the Cobalt SS Brembo brakes, no. And from what I recall, it's not a direct bolt-on, requires wheel spacers. Not to mention it's, like, $900-1000 for everything new, if you can't find them on a part-out or jy.

    Calipers look good, Jedi!

  4. When I first got the car I was told there was some leaking from the diff cover but I never addressed it. There was barely over a quart that came out into the drain pan. While I'm sure thats a problem I still have the issue at highway speed where the entire drivetrain feels like its vibrating. I'm not sure if its wheels out of balance, or wheel bearings, I'm running out of stuff to replace.

This was also my first good look under the rear of the car, good lord the stock suspension pieces are junk. Thin ass U shaped control arms and that piece that goes from side to side over top the axle.

Could be a balance issue, or maybe a bad u-joint. And I believe you're talking about the rear sway bar. Those things are tiny on thirdgen's, and rust like crazy.

  5. Sounds like the cop was a nice guy. Don't feel bad, I remember the first time I got pulled over. I was driving an 89 Taurus wagon I picked up after the Camaro got wrecked, and noticed a gray Charger following pretty closely behind me on a little used neighborhood road (I was headed home). Next thing I know, blue lights. Wondering why a unmarked, high speed pursuit car was pulling me, I started freaking. He got up to the window, asked for license and registration, yada yada. He comes back after running my info and says: "Know why I pulled you over?" to which I replied "No, sir." ... He pulled me over for failure to inspect vehicle (VA requires that you get a yearly inspection). I calmly replied that I didn't know the inspection was up (by 2 weeks), to which he replied "Yeah. Okay." and wrote me a ticket anyways. Then got into his high speed pursuit vehicle and drove off. That was a douche.

To this day I find it funny my first ticket was in a 89 Taurus wagon and not my 89 Camaro Z28...

  6. so i found out some interesting info today apparently I checked the tranny fluid wrong, its supposed to be with the car on or warm after running, i had the car off and cold and the level was much lower, apparently also your supposed to actually overfill it by 3/4 of a quart for best performance on the GM 200-4R

If you have the car on, you should shift through all the gears, as well, then check.
