[Video Game] Tower Defense: Lost Earth HD

Featured Replies

The Tower Defense genre of the mobile gaming is a personal favorite of mine, especially since I have nine other TD games I regularly enjoy. It's also popular with most App stores for the iPhone/iPod and Andriod Market.

Developed by COM2US, Tower Defense: Lost Earth HD has a nice spin on the TD formula. Wonderful graphics, easy interface, great replay value and still offers a great challenge for the player.

There are three game modes to choose from: Campaign, Challenge or Special Missions (these are unlocked by getting certain achievements in Campaign mode) For iPhone/iPod users, you're automatically sync'd with Game Center, and high scores for challenge mode and special missions appear within the game menus.

Campaign is the most involved game mode, it starts you off in easy mode, but even in easy, the further you progress, the difficulty certainly is formidable. Within campaign, you have four different game modes to tackle:

*Defense

*Survive

*Gather

*Attack

These modes are very forward, defense is just that, defend your base from the set amount of enemy waves.

Survive, there is a time limit, and endless waves of enemies, survive the time limit to achieve victory.

Gather is interesting, you need to gather a set amount of resources (both from sources on the map, and killing foes) to win, all while fighting off wave after wave of enemies, and still upgrading your defenses.

Attack, usually set for boss battles, there is a large enemy in one corner of the map, and you have to push through the defenses of that, WHILE defending your own base.

This isn't a quick play either, this game, depending on how much you play all at once, can keep you occupied for a few months. The game also has a "shop" where you can sink your money into power ups that can change the tide of battle. Replaying the game in all of easy, normal and hard modes will keep this Tower Defense game highly playable for months and months of enjoyment. Well worth it's $1.99 download price.

Well worth it, I bought this back in November and I still play this regularly. Already beat it in easy mode, working through normal, very formidable.
