Oh, don't even get me started on that. I completely opposed helping out Haiti too. Granted we have troops in Japan, the people of Japan don't need money, there are no stores for them to buy stuff. They need supplies; water, dehydrated milk, dry foods, etc. Things that you would need in an emergency.

I hate that this country is all about helping others before we can help ourselves. In all honesty, it does sound a little selfish, however, we cant afford to pay govt employees so let's send all our money to another country so they can hold onto it for a while.

My theory on this is if we were in well off perfect economy, no problems with surplus money to spend, yeah I'd 100% back giving money away to needy nations but when we're facing issues like not being able to pay our own government employees we gotta step back and evaluate these things close to home before doing anything else.

This is literally how all functioning companies and countries should act, pay your expenses you have at home and then if you have surplus money go donate to countries in need, etc...
