In need of clean or NOS 63' Tempest gas tank.

 

I'd reach out to Frank's Pontiac Parts in 29 Palms CA as a starting point for a used one. Also we have a list of other classic car salvage yards you can try to contact. I am not aware of anyone  reproducing a 61-63 Tempest/Lemans fuel tank at this time.

I've heard that you can easily modify a 62-64 Chevy II fuel tank but I consider that rumor since I have no idea what, if any, modifications you'd have to do to make it fit and work. So I only suggest that for future internet surfing and research, in case you strike out finding a quality used one.

Is your fuel tank beyond salvageable? Can it be repaired? Custom fuel tanks are not out of the ordinary. Granted they are not cheap but do you have many other options?

My tank isn't leaking. I think - after getting quotes for cleaning and sealing - I'll try to tackle cleaning and sealing it.

Good to have a backup plan at Frank's.  He's not too far from me. 

Let's us know how things go with cleaning and sealing it yourself as well as your experience at Franks.

Thinking I got scammed on the fuel tank connection Kenneth.  Paid his guy 10 days ago, haven't heard any reply from multiple emails. 

Beware of this guy.

Dude that really sucks. Sorry that this is happening to you, Have you tried his local Better Business Bureau?

I will try that.  Should have known, with such a good price w shipping.

I will give him til tomorrow to  respond,  and then tell all on this forum and others - don't buy anything from him.
