Featured Replies

Hi All

Hope someone can help here. I have gone through the Chilton l, and the1980 Pontiac service manual and cannot find the torque spec for the cam shaft thrust plate.

There are 2 bolts holding the thrust plate. would anyone know the torque.

Thank you in advance.

The 5/16-18 bolts used on the cam thrust plate should be torqued to 25 inlbs..(inch pounds) or approximately 2 to 3 ftlbs (foot pounds)...Of torque....Any more than that...You start to run the risk of snapping the bolts off or stripping the threads out of the Cast Iron engine block...
