Chaos Album Feature: Evergrey - Torn

Featured Replies

Time for another installment of my music feature!

This topic is about Everygrey's release, "Torn". Evergrey is a progressive metal band from Sweden, with a gloomy, melodic blues feel. Evergrey's lyrics have always been of the darker sort. The same can be said of the band's imagery. While The Dark Discovery dealt with a variety of ideas, later albums have been concept albums, dealing with issues like self-reformation (Recreation Day), paranoia, alien abduction (In Search of Truth), child abuse, cults and religion (The Inner Circle). Torn was more about self preservation, dealing with depression, and understanding and questioning the deceptive sides in other people. All in all, very relatable surprisingly. While the band has a more havy sound, the lead singer, Tom S. Englund is an extremely talented vocalist and guitarist.

And now, the music:

Broken Wings:

Soaked:

Fear:

When Kingdoms Fall:

In Confidence:

Fail:

Numb:

Torn:

Nothing Is Erased:

Still Walk Alone:

These Scars:

Caught In A Lie:
