Hi I have to buy a 6volt charger for my Pontiac Chieftain, I am  confused when its comes to what amp rating I need to go for as I am not technically mineded at all.

Can anyone advise me of good make to buy.

Viking - are you looking for a practical battery charger - like when a 12V battery is dead or low? Or are you looking for a trickle charger/battery maintainer for  6v battery?

I have had good luck with Battery Tender brand to maintain batterys - both in and out of cars. They make switchable 6V/12V devices.
