Brake light won't work

Featured Replies

I have a 1970 Pontiac Parisienne. The brake light wont work on one side. I have replaced the bulbs and light assembly and still no brake light. The tail light works fine. I have power to the assembly but when I connect the brake wires, it loses power completely. Suggestions?

Check the wiring on the non-working brake light. Look for a broken or loose ground wire or connection.

If you turn your emergency flashers on, does the brake light work or does it stay out?

I tried the hazards and that side does not work.I have checked all of the connections. Nothing seems loose. I did find a wire that was grounded but it is not connected to anything else. I am not sure where it was connected to originally

Can you send us  some pictures of your brake light bulb, bulb light and some of the wiring around your rear? It might help to see the condition of your wiring for ourselves.

You said you replaced both the bulb and the light assembly. What condition where they in?
