Wrong seats!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently picked up a 72 Lemans convertible. I knew the front seats were not correct for the car. Anyway, i had to replace the pistons and lines for the top and needed to remove the back seat. I noticed it was tight. When i went to put them back in, they were VERY tight. Looks like the back seat is from a coupe not convertible which is shorter.

Anyone else have a similar issue?

I forgot-to mention that the top hits the vinyl piston cover when the top goes down.

Bacardiman,

Yes, the seats are shorter in width to accommodate the top mechanism. Rear seats from 64 up thru 72 should fit from any GM intermediate brand. I ran into this problem when redoing my 64.

Hope this assists in some way.
