My 2002 sunfire wont start . changedThe ignition switch and now the securityLight/antithief system flashes

And car wont start. How do i resent or 

Bypass the antithief.

 

 

This will take awhile, so you need to be patient. This will take around 45 minutes (sometimes if you are lucky 15 minutes).

1. Turn key on

2. Attempt to crank for 2 seconds

3. Let key go and leave the key in the run position till the anti-theft light goes out, approx 10 mins (hence the need to be patient) 

4. Once the light is off, turn key off

5. Repeat steps 1-4 two (2) more times for a total of 3 times

6. After turning the key off for the 3rd time it should start

 

Some people have reported that it may take more than three tries, so don't give up. However, three seems to be normal for most folks.
