  1. The media is exactly like the political system, is exactly like the corporate system .... Remember the cola wars? Convince people that there are only 2 choices and the only decide between those two ... and all other options wither on the branch. Automotive? Ford advertised themselves against Chevy, Chevy advertised themselves against Ford ... and Chrysler filed bankruptcy.

    Anyone else read Mission Earth?

  2. the kids got a Wii for xmas, and the missus Sonic Colors. She was a big sonic fan from the genesis too. Too flashy for my liking.

I got the boys Monster truck mayhem and Redneck farm animal racing .... really a pair of hoots. We needed another remote tho ... so I nipped out to buy one, and found FlingSmash with a remote included selling for the same price as a bare remote so I picked it up ... figured the game would be a lame duck .... nope, the kids love it.

  3. Just about any parts place will test the battery on their analyzer for free. A smart first diagnostic point, but not to be accepted in a void. You could have a weak point somewhere in the charging system that lead to a cell in the battery shorting. Replacing the battery alone without ensuring that there's no other problem will soon lead to another dead battery. Low volt should trigger an OBD2 event tho.

Batteries are much more powerful than they were in the past, but much more fragile too. Once a dead battery was only a dead battery. Not anymore.

  4. A lot would depend on how the tint's adhesive works. A wallpaper steamer should work .. particularly in conjunction with a wall weasel. Alternately, a heat gun on low would loosen it up, but if you concentrate too much heat, you'll bust the glass. which leads to the really most effective method .... if your insurance replaces glass without deductible.

  5. This is why I backed up further for a full chassis Parisienne. Unibody construction makes me cry. There's no such thing as 'cosmetic' rust. Every car I've scrapped has left with a perfect running engine ... and so much body rust that you couldn't jack it to change a flat tire. That rust on a car with a real frame would be a few hours easy work to deal with ... and you'd be driving in style. That said ... I'd put it up and get a good look underneath. The pleasure of driving a car like that can't be underestimated. But that's me. I love my comfort and rust repair holds no fear for me ... even on a unibody.
