  1. Blew out the brake lines on the Parisienne. Looked at it again today .. what a gawdawful mess. Booked a rental .. I'll be there Friday morning. Still hunting for a room. Tossing about between Troy and Flint. I'm guessing from the room prices and reviews that west is bad.

  2. He's doing well. His boy and family had to move back home, so he had to pause project 160mph and is renovating the basement at the moment. project 160mph's engine is all finished, but he hasn't made any runs with it yet.

I'm looking at redoing my brake lines too. They've already been replaced once (badly) and the replacements look worse than the unremoved remenants of the originals. I'm considering stainless myself, but I hate the idea of buying yet another flaring kit.

  3. Well .. updates are in order. I drove it until I lost second gear. Then parked her for a while. Bought a 4sp 200-4r out of a GN, only to check the numbers and find that it wasn't original (didn't really expect it to be) but had originally backed an olds or caddy. That's OK, it's better for the weight of the beast anyhow, right? Well .... as I was searching for a shorter drive shaft, or a place to cut down this one, I happened to check the RPO codes and discover ... the rear end is a 2.41. That's good for fuel economy, right? Behind a 3sp, it sure is. Behind an overdrive .... I'd need to be doing 80mph just to get into 4th. So ...rebuilding the th200C Metric just became required reading.

The tear down was fairly easy, actually requiring not one special tool at all, even for the pump. Cleaning 25 years of grit inside, however ... next time, just take it to be hot tanked. If you're interested in seeing it ...http://s231.photobucket.com/albums/ee312/Professur/TH200C/

  4. I got the $50 northern tool AD mask a while back ... it won't trigger from sunlight or incandescent bulbs. Haven't tested it with florescent or halogen. No on switch, no batteries to die. Best money I've even spent.

  5. Best beer still made .... Oak Aged Yeti out of colorado. Friends in GA got it at a 'package store' whatever that is. It's second only to a beer no longer made...Caber from New Scotland Breweries. Failing those gems, Upper Canada Brown ale available in Ont ... 4 ingredients, no preservatives... lots of flavour. Not for people who like their beer so cold you can hardly hold the bottle.
