  1. Kiwi,

Just a thought, don't know how the legal system works on your side of the world but here in the litigation capital of the universe anyone can file the most ridiculous civil suit any time that they want for the most ridiculous reason they want, not to say that your complaint is ridiculous. Point being maybe you could find a really good tort lawyer and have them file a HUGE civil case against the knuckledragger. Get them to take it on a contingency, offer them 50% or whatever so you are not out of pocket for anything. The knuckledragger then gets to hire his own lawyer with large out of pocket expenses to defend what would be here an indefensible position.

Certainly worth a couple of phone calls.

  2. I see the wine and the sippi cup in the same picture. Was the birthday girl  also drinking the wine?

The one that concerns me is the one the 4 year old is driving, it is one of those four letter words.

Kiwi, I do have an honest question, your 64, what trans does it have in it and what is the shift pattern PNDLR or PRNDL?

  3. A post script. Doesn't look like something that eats mustangs does it?

Oh and I might mention that I have the original snap on top boot and floor mats.

    That is all original chrome.

At that time it still fell into the category of a survivor.

  4. Yes, this is probably where it was shipped from, it is my car. If you look real close there is a spot on the windshield a few inches down from the top edge and in from the left a pillar which looks like a bug spot. It is actually a rock chip. The only difference I see externally is that the 14 in wheels were replaced with 15 in chrome smoothies to clear the Wilwood disc brakes and the front end is down about 3 or so inches with the installation of the Alden coil overs to give it a more 60's vintage stance. It also has narrow white walls, again 60's theme. I wanted something that looked like it just came off of cruising Van Nuys blvd in the early 60's. I do still have the 14 in wheels tires and hubcaps which need to find their way to some other location, but I digress.

So if you  are looking for history you found it.

  5. Nope still have the 389, the heads were made unleaded friendly by Valley Head Service and the Roto Hydro is still bolted to it.. They are the early 6 bolt intake manifold. been setting in the weather so the heads may need to be disassembled and derusted. the engine has a bad rod and probably crank pin but it is a rebuildable core

  6. Kiwi,

Nice piece but quite a price tag. I'm not saying that there is not that much money and probably more in the car but ............... of course there are a lot of people in this world and he only needs the right one.

I see it is on a California plate with a registration that expired in either 16 or 18, cant quite make it out. I seem to recall from another thread that Wilwood brakes were not approved for down under, can it even be driven there?

    Thanks for the look see.

  7. Fitzy,

I know how you know. I bought a 62 Ford Fairlane and did a lot of suspension mods, essentially "backyard" stuff although I did have the benefit of my fathers repair shop. Also had a McCullough supercharger on it from a friends garage. Built all the mounts and got it working. All in all it handled good but not great and ran great for 260.

Got into a race with a swing axle Porsche in a canyon between home, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. He wanted to play and I was ready. We both passed the car in front on a blind curve, teenage lack of brains, and the race was on. Next thing I knew the Porsche dove into a curve with me right behind. I braked hard set the car and got on the gas. Next thing I knew I was looking at brake lights! I came within inches of contact. Fortunately the straight at the end of the curve came just in time and the Porsche accelerated hard.

I spoke to a Porsche lover I knew  and asked want the h.... was going on. I was informed that the swing axle Porsche has to power into a curve and brake out or the outside rear tire will tuck under and the car will snap roll.

A very scary lesson to learn, I am assuming you snap rolled your kraut kart.

  8. I am a little late coming to the party but thought I would throw in my two cents worth. This probably falls into the category of this will make you cry but when I got married in the mid 60's my mom immediately threw out my 3 foot high  stack of comic books dating to the late 40's and the 50's.

  9.

Tempting but I only have a 2 car garage. If I got it the wifes Lexus would need to go outside and that will never fly. I am sure not going to relegate the Pontiac to the driveway!

Looking back I should have done what I thought about when I was still single. Build a 40,000 square foot garage with an attached apartment. But at my age that is now dreams on a slide show.
