The Chargers weigh around 4200lbs, Challengers are still around 4100lbs.

Chrysler may as well have Brembo brakes on all models, I laugh at the thought of the base models' dinky single piston calipers being any good under panic and high stress situations.

My friend's 2008 Charger Datona weighs the same as my '85 Parisienne. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

If you are talking about GE's Challenger, it probably weighs even more now with the addition of the full roll cage by Petty, fire suppression system, the twin parachutes, the Daytona kit, the supercharged 526 Hemi elephant motor, and his own "custom" touches. It least those are the major mods I know he has made. He is also on like his 8th set of Hancock tires too. Of course, the car is still is a daily driver too (so he likes to tell me anyways).

No, this is a guy who works here with me. They were busting on me about having the old iron battleship ... they ate some crow when they found out that his car and the boss's Edge were both within a couple of hundred pounds of mine ... and mine didn't top the list.

Speaking of GE .. any word about how things went at the salt flat?

Last I heard he destroyed the nose of the car when it bottomed out.

True. He did damage the lower valance (but not the whole nose) and the insurance company paid for the replacement from HPP. He has the replacement now installed. Doesn't mean he isn't finished "tweaking" on it.

I don't know that he ever got to Bonneville. He damaged the nose coming home from work from BMW and hit a possum....at something north of the speed limit. That's what messed up the lower valance.

I spoke to GE today. I was right, he didn't make Bonneville because of the possum incident. The car is now fixed. However, he did make one run at Wilmington this summer. I am sworn to secrecy on how fast he went since he didn't make a 2nd run in time to back it up, so its considered unofficial (but still very impressive). He plans to return to Wilmington this month. He said he would send us a separate email on just how fast he went later.

GE called me today and explained why he didn't show up in Charleston as expected. Seems he got into a fender bender in Virginia on the way to Charleston. Seems some dufus was driving next to him taking pictures of his car while driving beside him (he has a kit on it that makes it look like a Daytona/Superbird). The guy got too close - hit him on the left side of the car, forced him into the guard rail. Instant right side damage now too. One of the rear fenders punctured the tire.

GE said the cop wrote this guy a handful of tickets at the accident scene, he thinks six at least. Had to take GE's wife to thie hospital for a herniated disc in her neck. Spent 2 days in the hospital for that. He's okay though. Car will be sent back to Petty's Garage to be repaired, and make sure the car is still square and true. So no more high speed passes for his Challenger this year though.

You have an excellent starting point. You can always add Foose wheels later on when you have the green. And a supercharger, And an exhaust.....
