Well I had about $3000 in customizing planned for the van this year, but when I only make about $16,000 a year it's not too easy to invest like that.... haha. Good luck on your auto start though :)

You might want to check with the automotive aftermarket and audio/electronics shops in your area. A company called AutoAdOns were advertising $99.95 remote car starters around Christmas time in my neck of the woods. I installed a Viper in my wife's Aztek for under $500 about 5 years ago.

My old Blazer had one installed for $150.00 last year. So if brand preference is not important to you (it really isn't for me), then shop around your local community. You might be able to find one cheaper than even Best Buy.

Omg, dont even get me started on remote starts, let alone a bulldog one. That return was the best thing i have ever did! Much happier with my system than that remote start!

I do have to say that I already have remote start in the van... literally haven't used it in over a year. But the only reason I'll be going with the viper all-in-one is to say that I have it. Plus, need the alarm and the remote start is only an extra $100 or so.. I've had the speakers (15" Rockford Fosgate Punch P3's) but due to the fact that I didn't have a nice alarm on the van those subs went buhbye when someone modified my driver's door lock. Talk about makin' a grown man cry, my new alarm will be set so sensitive it'll yell when the GD'in wind blows.
