  2. Hey fella's! New to the page. but i've been thinking of doing an Auto to Manual swap in my 69 Laurentian. i know these cars came with either a 3-speed or 4-speed, could anyone help to identify these transmissions? and possibly track down a clutch pedal/linkage assembly.
  3. I have an ‘05 G6 GT with brand new 215/50R17s on, less than 5k miles. Got cut off and pushed into a curb, broke my rim, running on my donut, as I am having a hard time finding a 17” replacement rim. I do, however, have a full set of 235/55R17s...will they fit?
  4. Hello fellow Pontiac enthusiasts, I am here to seek guidance and counsel. I recently had my front suspension break on me. More specifically, the lower shock mount broke free from the front passenger lower A-arm (I think it's the A-arm). Where the lower shock mount is supposed to bolt on, I no longer have those two holes. The metal broke right there, and I do not have one of those holes for the shock to mount to. So here is my conundrum. I am thinking about upgrading my suspension, but I am not sure what to do first or where to begin looking. Currently, I am pretty sure I have the original setup--suspension, drum brakes, 14" PMD 5-star rims/tires. I would like to do any upgrading on somewhat of a budget, as my wife told me "You don't HAVE any money to do this!" But we will see.... I have read somewhere before that some people have swapped in a Corvette suspension/brake/hub setup. Is that even possible? If so, how easy is that? If not a Corvette setup, what would be a direct swap? I am looking for something that is relatively easy to do, as well as relatively easy on the bank account. (see above WIFE comment). So that all are aware of what car I currently have.... I own a 1967 Pontiac Tempest Custom 4-door hardtop. It has a relatively new Pontiac 400ci V8, and a rebuilt TH350 transmission. The engine has been completely redone, as well. Bored out, all new internals, heads redone, it is NICE!!! The rest of the car, however, is mostly original. And of course, those are the parts I have to work on or fix up. Case in point, the suspension issue of which I am now typing about here on ForeverPontiac. I will soon be adding a few photos of my car. But for now, I simply ask for HELP! I welcome information from any and all folks willing to dole out the advice. In advance, THANK YOU. Your Pal, EZ_SLEAZY
  5. My Lemans has had this problem for some time now and i can't seem to figure out where it comes from. Anytime i go in reverse and turn the wheel counter clock wise to a certain degree i'll hear a grinding noise. The wheels don't seem to be rubbing and i'll take any advice i can get because i'm ready to try anything to get rid of this incessant noise. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hey I have come across a '76 Trans AM I am going to "restore" I'm not completely worried about keeping it original although I am keeping any original parts I would replace; heads, cams, etc.... Well I have the original 455 engine I need to have some work done on it, and I want to beef it up some as I know in '76 it took a huge power dive to about a 200hp engine. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or information on what kind of upgrades I could get on the engine (like aluminum heads possibly, or a better cam) and what kind of compression ratio I should get it set to. I'm under the idea that the original compression ratio is 7.6:1 which is pretty low, so what might be an ideal compression ratio? If anyone has any information that would be helpful to me that would be great. Thanks Nick
  7. Figured I spend a little bit of time this weekend trying to find things to fix on my Firebird. Firstly, how can I fix my driver seat so the backrest locks in a forward position? I can only recline the backrest and it will lock, but if I try to put the backrest in a more upright position it won't lock. The passenger seat works fine but the driver side one wont. The seat portion also feels a bit wobbly at times. Secondly, I have power mirrors with the little adjusting pad on the console between the two power window switches, both mirrors don't work electrically, how can I fix that? Lastly, the driver side rear speaker cover is kind of warped a bit, do I need to replace that? Thanks and I look forward to a little Saturday/Sunday work on my Firebird!
