  1. I finally had some free time today so I thought I would try a couple things out.

First: The Hood Gap Delete. I should have done this a long time ago. It's cheap, easy, and greatly improves the look of the car!

I'll have to take some better pics once it is nice enough to finally clean the car. I'm still figuring out this new camera so we shall see how they turn out.

    Second:

Today I read on one of the Cobalt forums that if you put 1/4" vinyl tubing in your weatherstripping, you will get less wind noise. I bought some cheap tubing and tried it out. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see how well it actually works but initial impressions were that it improved a little bit.

I pulled the weatherstripping off in order to do this. I had to grease up the inside of the weather stripping and then force the tubing through. It was impossible to get the tubing to go the entire length so I had to trim it off and then retry where the tubing had stopped. This took a little while but it was easier once I found out you could get the tubing through the pre-made holes in the weatherstripping.

  2. Screen may appear reversed?

Nice work though. I really like the backup camera on the Camaro. Most people don't really care for them but it's really helpful when backing into a parking spot

Ya, its just a warning because the cheap cameras reverse the image. It's to help protect them from lawsuits. I thought the rearview camera was kinda cool so I tried it. I also like working with electronics so it was fun to install.

  3. Well today was fun!!! I got to install my backup camera and replace my bluetooth microphone with one that actually works.

I got a cheap camera from Best Buy, it was almost free after I got some rewards certificates.

    And......it works

Just to make this easier on anyone else who wants to add this. You can have it wired properly (purple reverse gear wire to reverse light, camera powered by an ACC switched wire and then grounded to the car) but still make a mistake when plugging in the RCA cable lol.

I spent most of the time scratching my head because I couldn't get the camera to turn on when I put the car in reverse but I could turn it in manually.

Note: Vin is not the right RCA connection, you need to use the RCA plug HAHA!!!

Also, I can't wait for my leather center arm rest and e-brake boot to get here next week. It's going to tie the leather interior together.

  4. Most older cars are. They make you buy the block heaters as an option these days haha!! The newer cars don't really need block heaters though. I had to have a the dealer install one in mine because I figured I would need it, but I haven't really used it. My old 1993 Accord wouldn't start in the morning, during the winter, if it wasn't plugged in.

  5. The Focus is nice!! For some reason I am just really attracted to the Dart. It speaks to me HAHA, as I am sure the Focus speaks to you. I've been looking at the Dart a lot and watched some videos about it. It seems that the first group of darts are pretty much all the rallye trim with the 1.4L and a manual. I have seen listings for 1 or 2 limited trims but the rallye with a manual seems to be most widely available at the moment; and I like that lol.

  6. not to mention that car fully loaded has similar technology to a 62k luxury vehicle

I know its not an important touch but I think it is kind of cool that they have the leather in between the steering wheel and the dash like on luxury cars. I also like that the r/t can have push button start and keyless entry. My dad has all of that on his much more expensive charger R/t.
