  1. Thank you JUSTA6! Have a great week everyone! Has anyone installed the trunk A/C kit in one of these cars?
  2. Thank you 64 kiwi How do you remove the knobs I bought a wood grain kit to replace the worn wood trim in the dash, but at first glance I was not able to remove the knobs. Also is it difficult to remove whole headlight switch to clean in?
  3. Thank you Fitzy, Everything is working now, the only thing I noticed is that the instrument lights are very dim, I dont want to start with the wires just yet... maybe in the future.
  4. I finished putting together the interior today... Now the next project is to reinstall the gas tank and fuel lines... Leaving the disk brake kit for last.. never did one before. BEFORE AFTER
  5. Thank you B52bombarbier1, no luck on the fuse panel, I tried to follow the wires from the ignition switch but I am afraid of keep pulling on wires from 1963... I already found a few that needed to be isolated that rubbed and were exposed... I plugged into the the fuse panel and added a switch with a pilot light for now... Have a great weekend! Going to need to clean up the contacts on the fuse panel.... Do you guys know any product I can apply once I sand the contacts to keep from rusting again?
  6. Hello everyone, Here is a before and after of the engine bay on my 1963 Grand Prix with a 72 Buick 455 & TH400 Auto Hello everyone, I need to connect my new radio in the console to 12v source that only has power when the ignition is on... Any suggestion where I can connect to? Direct from the back of the ignition switch or there is something closer like in the glove box area / center console? Thanks!!!
  7. Thanks Wrongway... I also want to keep the original radio / speakers just to keep the nostalgia factor going 🙂 But I want it to work as well... I am installing these on my car now https://www.ebay.com/itm/262954513045 these speakers go under the front seats https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CHM9HXWM/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A27P8QVSUXTH0W&psc=1 this head unit will go on the center console storage ( I may be printing a 3d enclosure to make it look better in the compartment)
  8. Thank you Frosty, I am still waiting for both to reply with price / availability Do you guys know if the control arms from the Catalina are 100% compatible with the Grand Prix?
  9. Hello Wrongway... Is there a kit for the rear disk brakes? Glad to see you are making progress in your GP, can't wait to have mine in driving condition again....
  10. Thanks Wrongway, I knew about Franks sent an email yesterday no reply yet.... Desert Valey is new to me.. I will give it a try now... thanks again! Thanks Kiwi they do not have the front control arms.
  11. Sorry got one more question about the radio... I bought the correct speakers front and back..... the plug on the radio only has the brown wire positive (thanks Wrongway) and a green wire for the speaker. There is an empty slot for a third wire not sure if it is missing another wire there... how do I connect the 2 speakers I thought it should be connected in series? Is one side connected to ground on the dash?
  12. Hello everyone... Where do you guys get used parts for your Full Size 63 Pontiacs? I need to replace all my front suspension bushings, I wanted to get a set of front upper / lower control arms to sandblast paint and install the new bushings. Thanks
  13. The back speaker was missing they had 2 x 6x9 on the package tray that were disconnected the front speaker was still on the dash but completely disintegrated I will most likely install a headless unit instead 😞
  14. Thank you wrongway! You are the best!!! Thank you for the heads up B52bombardier1, Is there anything I can do to use current speakers on that radio, adding an amplifier or a converter?
  15. Thanks Wrongway I really appreciate it, trying to put the console back in the car tomorrow but I need to fix the radio first.
  16. Hello everyone, I am trying to connect my new speakers to the radio but all the cables were cut by the previous owner.... Does anyone have or know what cable colors connect to what? I also have an external FM adapter the dash radio is AM only. Also do you guys know what this is? it was in the wiring harness for the center console..
  17. Thanks Frosty, I did contact UMI and they told me that they do not have anything that fits.. Mine are very soft not sure if there are all like that or it is because they are rusty, the bushings are also very dry rotted and will need to be replaced... I rather replace with a tubular design, I will take a second look at it tomorrow.
  18. I checked Jegs and Summit they dont have it listed... I am going to try to connect with Jegs tech support. QA1 only has 69+ pontiacs nothing for the earlier years...
  19. Thank you JUSTA6 I only found one company PMT but the set with the hardware and braces are close to $900 + tax + shipping... Ames, OPGI and ebay do not have it. I am going to look at NPD now..
  20. Hello Everyone, I need to order new trailing arms for my 1963 Grand Prix... Mine are bent I think someone tried to use a jack to lift the rear on both sides and the metal is very thin... Do you guys know anyone that sells aftermarket trailing arms that are stronger? Regards
