The pearl is in the paint. I went with blue pearl in blue paint so it changes shades of blue in different light. As you can see in the pics I have already done some and when I take it out in the sun it really pops. Hopefully when the entire car is done it will look how I’m want.

This was a numbers matching car but I finally decided to make it the way I wanted. Nobody lives forever. I converted from an automatic transmission to a Tremec TKX 5 speed which allows me to go with 3:73 rear gears and still only turn 1800 rpm at 60 mph. I also upgraded my brakes to power disc front and rear. The serpentine belt conversion kit came fro CVF Racing. Upgraded all bushings to polygraphite from PST. This is my first time painting with pearl so wish me luck.

I can’t wait until I can get it on a dyno to see what she can do. Butler Performance estimated close to 500 hp.

It’s a 400 .030 over with heads and cam built by Butler Performance. 800 cfm custom built Quadrajet built by SMI on a Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold.

Just came across this great site. I drive a 1969 GTO convertible that I purchased when I was 19 years old in 1982. I have enjoyed this car for many years and am currently doing a full frame of restoration. I hope to have it completed by this spring. Lots of great cars on this site. IMG_0747.MOV
