  1. Hey guys,

My daughter played with the dome light switch Thursday night causing the battery to deplete itself. We recharged it overnight but now I have "SERVICE TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM" displayed in the dash and both remotes for keyless entry won't work at all!

I tried to relearn the remotes but the DIC won't activate the sequence (Instead of displaying REMOTE RELEARN ACTIVE it flashes and comes back to the press to start remote relearn).

I also wanted to relearn the TPMS sensors but I need my remotes to activate the sequence!

Does anyone know what to do?

  2. Wow man, that's a lot of bad things to happen at the same time! There are two things that I've learned in life:

1- Change is good. Nothing happens for nothing. It's tough at first but once you get through it you'll be smarter, tougher and more experienced in life. What happens next is usually better than what you had before.

2- Never say never. You never know what will happen. Take good care of yourself and learn from your experiences as well as other's. But never say never, cause life has too many twist to make yourself that lie.

Take care man, a lot of people love you here. You're not alone, no matter what. :lol2:

  3. Sorry guys, didn't have time to update this tread lately. So 1.49$ later I I changed the hose and it's still doing it but not as brutal as before and the engine seems to run better. I guess the hose was part of the equation but not the answer...

Anyways it's a lot better thanks to your suggestions so I wanted to thank you for pitching in! :lol2:

  4. Open your hood and look down at your intake manifold. On the front, facing the front bumper is a small 3" vaccum hose that connect two lines , it looks like a U when your looking at it. This line cracked on me last year,a big hint is that when it was windy the idle problem got worse ( which lead me to check my CAI, IAT, and intake manifold sensor :lol2: ). The motor was good until it got to about 600 RPM, where it died immediately. Got real good at brake tourqing at 1K until I found the problem.

50 cents worth of tubing later, problem solved.Let us know if that fixed it.

You know what, that could be exactly my problem. The tube is all cracked in different places. I'll stop at Canadian Tire this week to get a replacement tube.

I'll update you guys when I change it.

    Thanks!

  5. No engine lights, doesn't matter if the tank if full or not. Plugs are almost new and are in good shape. I've even cleaned the ICV and at first its seemed that it was doing better but the problem never left.

It still could be the ICV doing a bad job. I also read on the net that a bad vaccum seal can cause the engine to receive less air and cause it to choke momentarily.

I'll try to take a look at it this week-end, see if I can identity the problem.

  6. What happened to the front of the GA?

I bought it like that. at 500$ and everything mechanic being A1, I wasn't going to be difficult on the body :D

    well.. it could be done

with a little bit of cutting an probably some fiberglass or other sort of fill work

although.. it definitely would be far from genuine

will the seller not refund them?

No refunds as these are used had terms about the buyer "making sure it will fit your model". It's okay, I was prepared for that eventuality. I'm just disappointed they don't fit and there's no way in hell that my wife will let me cut into the bumper... in fact she wants me to stop modding it!
  7. Different sizes like the G6? lol. That's a bummer though, just a reason to get a whole new bumper for it though :lol2:

Yeah they look alike but the actual shape of the chrome trim is different on the GXP... Unfortunately I can't afford to buy a GXP bumper so I guess this is it...
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome! I actually like the bug shield... when I see a Torrent without one it seems kinda weird... I guess it grew on me lol...

As for mods I think that the GXP grilles are going to be the last mods I do to it for a while... it's actually my wife's car and she wants me to stop modding it like it was mine :agreed:

    Not true!

The LNJ motor under the hood of that Torrent does have support. It's a variant of the LA1 3400 motor, along with the LX9 3500 motor, and the older L82 and LG8 (3100 variants) and there is support for performance with the 60*V6 motors. Check out these two sites:

    WOT-Tech.com

    60inclusive.com

Oh! That's interesting! But I still think that aftermarket support is a lot more limited on the Torrent compared to other Pontiac cars...

BTW if anyone catches a seller with a pair of projector headlamps, let me know! :lol2:

Thanks for the info, I'll make sure to check it out!

  10. :woot::rolleyes::willy_nilly::lol2: BACON! :slap: nice Torrent. what does it mean by "solar-ray, deep tinted"? as in dark? or...?

Those are GM's words from the brochure... basically it means that it's got a 20% tint on all back windows and a very light tint on the front doors.
  11. Hi guys,

Some of you already know me from G6Performance.com I decided to try it here and see if I can find some more of my kind :willy_nilly:

I currently own a 2008 Torrent Podium Edition. Here's what the Podium edition package includes:

    - Podium Edition – includes specific decals

    - Cruise control

    - Glass – Solar-Ray, deep-tinted, behind front doors

    - Keyless entry system – remote, extended range

    - Remote vehicle starter system

    - Wheels – 17" bright chrome flangeless aluminum (Firestone 235/60/17)

Here's a list of mods I've done so far:

Heat Soak Resistance Kit, Stage 2 CAI, 4300k HIDs (High/Low/Fogs), White LED interior & licence plate, Chrome exhaust Tip w/resonator, Red filament bulbs for brake/turn signal, Disabled DRL's, Buffalo 3 inch step assist bars (not on the pics below, sorry)

I also received a set of GXP upper grilles that I'll be trying to fit tomorrow morning!
