You should be able to do it on your own. Look it up on Google for your make model and year. Or in a Chilton manual if you can get your hands on the one for your model yr. Some libraries have them.

All you should need to do for bad valve guides is replace the heads and gaskets. Also wouldn't take much for your exhaust to burn blue. And if your exhaust ever smells foul like bad eggs that because you are burning coolant. And white smoke or steam is water.

I'm Aj from OKC I have owned a Pontiac G5 since 08. And I have not yet modified it. Although I have recently decided to buy a body kit, functional ram air hood, vented fenders, and to replace the trunk lid with one from a Cobalt. After I finish my cosmetic upgrades then I'll move on to the performance upgrades; new shocks, struts, and coils, a new anti roll bar, bigger wheels and the brembo brakes from a Cobalt SS. Then upgrade my ignition system, and fuel delivery system, adding a turbo and oil cooler. And eventually uprgarding all the engine internals and my tranny ( only going to run 2psi on the turbo until I get the engine and tranny upgraded).
