66 Pontiac GTO

Vehicle Description / Story
This is my 66 GTO that I bought when I was 17 and a junior in high school back in 1976. Originally a 389 cid Tripower with a 4 speed, I ended up blowing up the 389 being a stupid teenager and replaced it with a 71 400 but I kept the original Tripower and put in a hotter cam in the 400 motor. When I was 19 I ripped out the original dash and made my own with real 1/4 thk dark walnut and S.W. gauges. I had the car painted in 1980 and that's the way it stayed until 2016 when I was able to spend some money on it finally. I replaced the old 400 with a freshly built 455 bored out to a 462 cid , replaced the 4 speed with a Richmond Super Street 5 speed -w- overdrive, replaced the 10 bolt rearend with a 12 bolt posi and 3.73:1 gears, and disc brakes front and rear. Exhaust is now 3" polished S.S. Pypes X-Change with Magnaflow XL S.S. mufflers, and QTP electric cut-outs.

Thank you JUSTA6, Yes I'm really happy she's been mine for so long. The GTO keeps getting better, and I keep getting older. lol
