Frosty's First Car Weekend of the Season

In spite of my head cold/sinus infection (thank you to my 2-year old grandson for that), I got out to a local car show on Saturday and then I did a local cars and coffee event on Sunday.

So Saturday, I dust off Lucy for the first miles of the season. My local farmer's market was having a car show. It was postponed from last weekend due to the rain that we had. There were about 70 cars in total. This was a good news and bad news event for me. There were a surprising decent number of Pontiacs there too.

Lucy looking good.

Good looking 4-door Valiant. I had to loan them my socket extension to jumper the starter terminals to get her started later.

Cool 4th gen Trans Am with a forward opening hood. The owner told me that he had to be another used hood, cut it up and open in order to engineer this set up and get it to fit and close correctly.

Good boy Beethoven! Not his real name but he was a well behaved St. Bernard.

Meet Artichoke!

IMG_5830.JPGIMG_2617.JPG

Why Artichoke you ask? I know I did. Because his owner is a dog groomer and she wanted an atypical name since she sees and works with normal named dogs all day. That's why. Ooooooo kay!

IMG_2619.JPG

Meet Claudette. Claudette and I became friends. She loved getting scratches and attention from ol' Frosty.

IMG_5833.JPG

And this wonderfully wrapped Equinox is what Artichoke's owner drives. Figures doesn't it?

I said this was a good and bad news show.....

The good news was I won a door prize and a Top 20 pick from the car owners themselves. I was the first award announced. The free oil change more than covers the show's $15 entry fee.

IMG_2643.JPG

The bad news.....Lucy would not start at the end of the show! Ugh! I had her towed back to the garage mahal for now. Monday I will have her towed to a repair show. This sooooo ticks me off! I have already put the new mini-starter in the front seat of Lucy..

So on Sunday, I took Violet out to a local cars and coffee event at a local automotive detailing and wrap business called 810WRAP (810 is our local telephone area code). There were about 15 cars. I was not impressed. A lot were high end cars like Corvettes, Cadillacs, Porsches, Audis, and BMWs. Most of these guys are younger and are into boast and tuning, which is okay. I would have like to have something else to talk about. The host business really didn't do much to try to sell or give anything away except for the free coffee and donuts (where were good mind you).

I love this guy's shirt.

Interesting license plates on all three cars.

I certainly didn't expect this to be sitting in the shop.......a McLaren!

This hilarious picture was hanging in the unisex restrroom!

IMG_2641.JPG

On the way home, Violet's check engine light came on. I dragged out my OBDII diagnostic tool once I got home.

IMG_5870.JPG

Is this really a bad thing? I cleared the error code. To be fair, I did replace the stock 204 degree thermostat with a 180 degree thermostat two years ago.

Fantastic pics frosty 🙏

Certainly nice to see a 60 delivery 👍

Shame Lucy was norty ! Time for that starter alright 👍

Thanks Kiwi. I agree about the starter but I have a nagging feeling that something else went wrong this time. Obviously I won’t know until it gets taken into the shop. I am really tired of these no start issues.

I find the starter works best bolted to the engine block with the wire attached. Is yours Bluetooth? LOL you know i had too.

Cold day for DTC P0128? Maybe thermostat stuck open? Great pictures!!

The thermostat trouble code throw me for a loop. Obviously I will be taking my OBD diag tool with me on Power Tour.
