Hello alll... I'm new to the forum and just want to say hello. I'm in the process of building a resto-mod 62 2DR sedan Catalina. Current build status is as follows: C0rvette C4 suspension (F&R), C7 Gen V LT1 (slightly built), 2017 ZL1 TR6060 trans, C6 ZO6 brakes (F&R). Currently building the firewall back to accommodate the LT1 setback 10"s. A lot of work left to do. My plan is to make the interior and exterior as stock as possible. I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas.

Hello Tom,

And a very cordial welcome to the group. Lots of knowledge here and you can expect quick responses. That is quite a resto-mod that you have there and I've done two LS swaps but only with Gen 3 engines and transmissions. That Gen 5 engine swap will be interesting to watch from here.

Please start yourself an all new build thread in the Pontiac Progression Place here on the site and we love pictures as you encounter and solve problems along the way.

All of what is seen on the chassis is initial mock-up. I have quite a bit more gusseting, grinding, and (re) welding to do.

Looks like a fabulous beginning from here.

Hi Tom !

Now this is impressive !

I have lots of questions as I have a c4 front and rear ready to go into my 57 chieftain …

First question is …

Have you widened the track for your b body ? As your using a c4 set up. ?

C4 is way narrower

I see you have deleted the mono springs how have you set up your coil spring mounts onto the live axle mounts ?

64, Regarding the track; I made it all up in the wheel offset. I had a set of wheels made for the car. I hopenthat answered the question.

Regarding to coilover mounts in the rear; I used tge lower shock mount on the outer housing for the bottom, then welded on a new off-the-shelf mount for the top.

Fantastic work, lookin forward to watching this build. Welcome to the group. You'll fit right in here.

64, Yes, I did. I bought a set of brackets from Kore3 Brakes. Tobin is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. He stocks the C4 to C6 brackets. I don't remember the exact price but do remember it was very reasonable. The C6 has an internal brake-shoe type parking brake. In order to use them I had to purchase a.set of billet adapter hubs that include the full parking brake assembly. I don't remember, off the top of my head, who i got those through, but could figure it out if you decide to go that route. I do remember that they were pricey @around $800. FWIW, I plan on running manual brakes with a Willwood 7/8" piston m/c.
