Who is LID?  Much as I'd love to....not gonna happen.  Thinkin about the Power tour Mi stop.  Car Craft had a Street Machine National there and I made it with the Sunbird.  Must have been in late 80's.

I'm with Justa....what or who is LID?

Justa - it would be awesome if you can come to the Michigan stop of Power Tour.

I have not registered any car for Chrome and Ice. I usually spectate and walk around for a couple of hours and chat with people I know. Lucy has never been ready for a winter show, especially since 2019 when I blew the heater core. In some ways, I am still getting the old gal back together.

The 1 star show at the IMA for the ISCA points win, got me/Sunbird The International class championship in 1990.  6in of snow and matching white knuckle drive in my Ford van with the Bird on my trailer.  So glad it was close to home.

The show is this weekend. I'm meeting Chuck for lunch and then going to the show. Sadly, this is close to my house and NOT anywhere near Tony's. So it will be either burgers or coney dogs for lunch instead.

The 1910 Buick Bug race car. One of two built and only one know to exist. One was driven by Louis Chevrolet and the other by Bob Burman. This is believed to be Burman's car. It raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The ram head on the nose was to suppose to show Buick "butting" its way into racing.

This freshly finished (last week in fact) '55 Chevy BelAIr 4-door wagon belongs to one of my ski club buddies, Jim. He owns three '55s. His parent's original black 4-sedan, a black/red convertible and this  orange and white wagon. This is his "resto-mod" '55.

He's kept it mostly restored but he has a '66 327 SBC, a 700 R4 overdrive transmission, a Custom Autosound radio, front disc brakes and corresponding brake booster and master cylinder, air conditioning, seat belts, tilt steering, an electric fan in addition to the stock clutch fan, and a Sniper electronic fuel injection system. The generator is fake, it is actual an alternator.

This is a super-rare 455 Buick Stage 2 '70 GS! What makes this rare is the heads are nearly unobtainable (think Pontiac RA V rare), It is believed these engines produced near 500 HP back in the day. Buick tested 2 of these cars. None were produced in production due to upcoming emissions laws. However, some conversion kits did come across dealership parts counters. It is believed that there were very few number of kits ever made or sold.IMG_1510.thumb.JPG.a010a4a473ac2e8d8f15a629bc3594e6.JPGIMG_1511.thumb.JPG.2ffb86b401920ecfeb7bcd63685de80c.JPGIMG_1513.thumb.JPG.9c3bc1d1a144db98fe63b9806a7ca052.JPG

This '71 Lemans (and Lucy's fraternal twin) belongs to Michigan Widetrackers president Tim Mays. Some ski club friends of mine thought this was my car.

Here is the only unwashed or cleaned car at the show. It still has salt and grime on. This belongs to one of my fellow Friday night car cruise volunteers. He has a '66 Corvair that is mint. This he just purchased for $2000 and he drove it home from California 2 weeks ago. He claims this is going to be his daily driver. Good for him! He is the one hold the bonnet open.

Actually the show sits on TWO hockey rinks. One is for the OHL Flint Firebirds team. The second rink is often used for high school, travel, and beer league hockey.

Why? Does it interfere with your ability to apply under coating?

I'd pay money to see you go down a dragstrip with those suckers on! :driving::rofl:
