Hi,

Thanks for accepting me into the group.

I have been a Pontiac fan since 1972, the year I purchased my first car (so you can guess my age !!). It was a 1969 GTO, triple black, 400 4 speed. I kept that Goat for 4 yrs. and sold it when I got married. Back in 92, I was fortunate enough to stumble across a 69 GTO that was for sale. Just seeing the car got my juices flowing and I made the purchase. It was a 400 Ram Air III, 4speed, with Hideaways. It was  an ugly shade of green, not factory, but I was planning on a repaint anyway. Once I got the car home I immediately started the disassembly to prepare it for body & paint. Due to work, family and other responsibilities, the car sat in the garage for 8 years. I would start it up once a month and move it up & down the driveaway to keep the fluids flowing. Finally, in 2000, I was able to resume my project. To my surprise the body was very good with minor rust areas. The floors were solid too. I decided to have the car painted Carousel Red, my favorite GTO colour. I added a rear wing to complete the look I wanted. For reasons I wont get into I sold the Goat in 2012 (broke my heart). Fast forward to 2022, I found another Goat in the area that was for sale. The previous owner had started the restoration and then lost interest in it. Body & Paint was done (Carousel Red !!), the motor was a fresh 400 rebuild, the TH400 was a fresh rebuild also, The floors were solid, but no interior in the car. The car needed wiring to be completed, carpeting, an interior, brakes & lines, trunk floor needed sanding, cleaning & repaint and many other small jobs that pop up when into a restoration. The Goat is now on the road and I am driving it while I pick away at items that are still on the to do list. Somehow the list keeps growing, but isn't that half the fun !!

Keep saving those Pontiacs !!
