I kind of goofed in picking the wrong category. So here it goes.

I am new here and I apologize for picking the wrong category.  I put my 57 Pontiac here when I should have introduced myself as a new member.  I am 63 years old as of November 2021. I have had a passion for cars since very early childhood. Building wooden go carts, building car models, watching car racing on TV on Sundays, drawing cars and buying car magazines like Hot Rod, Car Craft and Popular Hot Rodding. I was doing this when all my friends were doing the opposite, this was around nine or ten years old and the addiction just got worse and worse as I got older. My very first car was a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan that was all there and ran but was a rotten mess. I bought the car with my heart and not my mind but I started to quickly learn what to look for. I know this is a Pontiac site but all my cars were Chevy's until I bought my 57 Pontiac in 1996, I hope no one holds this against me. Cars and more specifically old cars have always been a part of my life and very dear to my heart. Have owned two 56 Chevy's, a 57 Chev for 23 years, a 55 Chevy, 67, 68 and 70 Chevelle, 70 Nova, 74 Vega and a number of other cars over the years. I presently have my 57 Pontiac since 1996 and a 74 Chev Caprice Estate wagon that my dad bought in May 1974. The 74 wagon now has just over 55,000 well taken care of miles. I was born and grew up in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area but have lived in Milton, Ontario, Canada for the last 18 years with my partner and better half. I am a millwright/service tech and worked for the same company for 30 years before the company started having difficulties. I found myself out of work after 30 years and started my own company doing what I had loved doing. I am now retired and have been since I turned 60.  I basically have a two track mind, old cars and old music. Cars mostly from the 50's, 60's, 40's and to a lesser extent the 70's. Music from the 60's, 70's and 50's and love the history of both these topic's.  I can never see the day when I lose interest in vintage cars and the people that love them as much as I do. All of my friends and I do mean all of them, I have met through the love for old cars. Thanks for listening and cheers. George

George. welcome to FP!

I have been a closet gear head most of my life as well. My first car was my grandmother's '71 Vega. I've owned Buicks, Pontiacs, GMCs, and Chevys. So don't be concerned that you are not 100% pure Pontiac. We all have our other marques, especially now that Pontiac has gone the way of the dinosaur.
