Hello forum gents.   New to this forum stuff but looks like a good thing to do.  I have a 55 Chieftain that I have been working on for 6 years.  This is a true old/way hot rod built buy the owner.

No fancy expensive hot rod shops ( couldn't afford them anyway) The interior was done by a upholstery shop and the paint, well that's another story.  Installed a 347 cu. in. 60 over engine with mild cam.

3x2's original carbs.  Tranny  cam out of a 68 corvette anniversary TH350. (don't think its any different than other th350's. Had to build engine to tranny mount.  Installed Power Steering 605 gear box. Built Bracket assembly for early model P.S. Pump.   

Look forward to sharing and hopefully learning more about these great Pontiac Cars.

I'm curious to know where you found the chrome "Pontiac Strato Streak" valve covers. Those are way cool. They really help set off the engine bay. Great job.

The valve covers actually came with the engine. The 287 I had was going to cost $$$$ to rebuild. This engine was rebuilt in California at a speed shop. Right place at right time to pick this motor up!! A/C system is next. Looking at a Hurricane unit.

I've never seen them for sale - at least through the major Pontiac catalogs and online speed shops.  I think having a set would make any modern Pontiac engine bay look very retro. I am tad jealous. Good look with your AC install. Please share pictures with us.
