What's up, my name is Steve and I own a 1966 Tempest. It's all original with 36,000 miles, 326 2bbl, and a(soon to be replaced) 2 speed automatic. It's my daily driver so I'm looking forward to engaging the community for tips and advice.

It'd better not melt or I'll be going back to building fords. lol. I had a brother in law years ago that had a C4 corvette. At the time it was about 10 years old. He only drove it a couple times a year. Wouldn't even open the garage door if there was a possibility rain. It was a "sunny day car". I just never understood that. Build it, drive it, enjoy it!

I understand it a little more. You don't want to expose it to the really nasty weather like road salt, sleet, snow, and stupid winter drivers.

I have a fellow club member who never takes his beloved '86 Trans Am out unless it is an absolutely perfect day and his road is perfect (he lives on a dirt road). He doesn't want to expose it to anything that will get it dirty or promote corrosion.

I don't mind driving Lucy in the rain. Just not the snow, ice, and salt. For most of us, these aren't daily drivers any more.
