Hey everyone,

My name is Jim, in the Army and love my GTO. I've had this one for about four years and have been slowing building it up to be a true jewel.

It is for the most part stock; but is in the middle of a wrench session that will be putting on some serious power.

Thanks for having me!

Sweet GTO!  I still miss my '04.  I don't think the automotive press ever gave this car the kudos that it truly deserved. ENJOY!

Sharp.  Like the hood. Welcome to FP

Welcome to FP and the madness Jim. Love to see more pictures of your GTO as you progress through your wrenching session. What do you plan to do to it?

Thanks! I'm in the middle of putting an LSA blower on it right now. If you use Instagram, my name on there is gyarados6.0

Thank you! It's a Maverickman Carbon Fiber hood and I love it.

Thanks. Yeah these cars were really done an injustice.

This is quite true. Especially from an advertising perspective. The late Pontiac historian John Sawruk told me that the 2004-2006 stock was the best GTO every produced. It was the best power-to-weight ratio, best horsepower-to-wheels, best braking, and best handling GTO that Pontiac every produced period.

I LOVED my '04 GTO and I'm still sorry that I ever let it go (granted that the '05-6 was faster).

And yes, the promotions people really didn't do their job to help sell- and neither did many of the dealerships.  There were all kinds of ADM (Additional Dealer Markups) placed on the car which certainly didn't help sales.
One other thing- those doors were made with really thick gauge steel (I was told) hence it had a great "clunk" when closed.  The Monaro/GTO was a great machine!
