I really like this generation of Vibe.
Thanks! Me too, especially the GT !
i'm have to look for it one of these daysIt's really nothing special. Silver Springs is much nicer, bigger and offers many more trails, places to fish, grill, etc. .
Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't care for HIDs. Too many people around here have them and they are very blue and look absolutely ridiculous. I have encountered quite a few vehicles that have factory HIDs and projector headlights and the light is still blinding. Also, call me crazy, but I prefer to install a bulb and be done with it. I don't want to be searching around for somewhere to mount ballasts, etc. I will continue to use regular bulbs as long as they're available. Soon I am actually going to be getting a pair of Sylvania's latest "high performance" bulbs, the SilverStar zXe to try out. They make them for the lows and highs (9006 & 9005) for the 2009-2010 Vibe, but not the fogs . I'm going to get one pair for the lows on eBay for cheap and see if they're worth it or not before I shell out the money for the high beam bulbs too.

]I used HIDs in my normal housings for over three years, key is aim and bulb wattage. If you stick with a 35W HID bulb, and don't go higher than 6000K, aim them slightly lower than normal, you'll have no issues with glare. I never did. When my HIDs burned out (ballast let go, and water go into the right side socket ) and I switched to my set of SilverStars...gah, how do you see at night?
I'm just not a fan of HIDs. I am perfectly happy with my SilverStars and I can see just fine with them as well .
-
Hey Carrie! It's good to see you
Not much new it looks like, but she's looking fine I'm sure! Hopefully I'll get to see you at a meet in 2012?!
Hey Sadie! Nothing new until income tax time. Needless to say I am anxiously awaiting the end of January! I definitely hope to make it to at least one meet in 2012.
Nice Vibe.Thanks !
]Lots of attention to detail here.Ever thought to going to HIDs? They'll make you wonder why you bought SilverStars.
Also...TAKE OFF THE CHROME VALVE CAPS! Those are a big no-no with the aluminum TPMS sensors. They'll fuse to the valve stem, and 80% of the time will snap the stem while getting them off. Plastic caps only with those. I've lost count on how many people ruin those TPMS sensors due to ignorance.
Yep. To me it's the little things that really count.
I have considered going with HIDs, but decided against it because I don't believe in using them in non-projector housings. I have used SilverStars for years in multiple vehicles and have never had a problem with them burning out prematurely, etc.
I had someone else tell me the same thing about the valve caps. They've been on since April of 2010 and I haven't had any problems with them yet. I check the air pressure once a week and the 18s come off for winter, so I'm not too worried about it. Thanks for the heads up though.
Nice Toyota! wait...lol @ all the TRD stuff you have. Seriously though, nice Vibe. I like the newer body styles over the older much more.
LOL! Thanks! I prefer to call it a Poyota !
I really love the new body style too, especially the GT!
nice Vibe where is that Forest preserve at?Thanks ! The Forest Preserve is a few minutes from my house. It's in between Sandwich and Somonauk.

That would be a hell of a road trip! Sandwich to Harrisburg, Harrisburg to Ohio, Ohio to Sandwich. Sounds like fun !
-
you should be proud its soo clean!
I am very proud of you Matt !
I agree!
It's absolutely beautiful Matt! I don't even really mind the tan in the interior . So, should I take the train out a few days before the Bash and drive it to Ohio for you ?!
-
Sorry guys and girls but I won't be there. It's approximately an hour and a half drive for me and since the weather is going to be so crappy it's not really worth it to me (not saying I don't want to meet you all). Perhaps we can get something setup for April and hopefully the weather will cooperate.
-
About time!
-
Now the forecast is as follows: Rain or snow showers in the morning... then snow or snow showers in the afternoon. Much colder. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.
The forecast for Sunday is: Mostly cloudy. Highs around 40.
Maybe we should re-schedule for Sunday instead...
-
As of now, the forecast according to Weather Bug is: Rain likely. Highs in the mid 40s. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
Well, at least if it's going to rain we won't have to worry about cleaning our cars .
-
Thanks guys!

My +1 (if he's able to make it) will be driving his '07 Solstice GXP.
I am glad to see we have 13 people on the list. Hopefully everyone shows and hopefully the weather holds out for us.
-
Pretty much done? lulz nobody's ever done with their car until it's no longer in their possesion. Almost three years of ownership on my GA, and I'm still modding it.
Nope, I can honestly say I am done with it. Before the 18s go back on for the warm weather the calipers will be painted black and that will be it until the factory battery dies and I replace it with a Red Top. No one makes anything for the '09-'10 Vibes and I wasted way too much money on my Sunfires with nothing to show for it. I am enjoying having a "normal" reliable car to drive way too much to even consider doing anything else to it. It's perfect the way it is.
Welcome!Thanks!

Immma be

imma imma imma be There
Fo Sho

Word to yo mommz
seriously... i will be there
I see you're from Aurora. Any chance you'd want to meet up someplace (perhaps Tinseltown since it's right by 88?) and cruise to Schaumburg together? Let me know.
1. Ken
2. Jakeman - maybe
3. 60DegreeVVT
4. J TO ENVY + 1 possibly
5. ponta2147 + 1
6. Bleco2.2 (from The J-Body Organization) - maybe
If we could get at least 10 people to show that would be a pretty nice turnout! Here's hoping the weather stays decent. I am psyched to get out of the house, although I'm bummed because I'm still rocking the steelies ! Oh well, either way it'll be fun!
-
You all are more then welcome to come to the schaumburg meet on the 20th
Definitely!
Also, any of you Wisconsin people that haven't done so already need to check out WI GM-Tuners. We are having a meet in the Milwaukee area in April. We'd love to have some more people there.
-
Welcome fellow WI GM-Tuner! Thanks for joining!

I am pretty active on GenVibe. I read everything on there before I got my Vibe. It's what made my mind up to get the Vibe so I am definitely grateful for that because I <3 my Vibe.
Thanks!
Aren't you the lady I bought my bumper from!?!Hum... I do seem to recall an impromptu road trip to Rockford last summer !!!
]Awesome! Another Vibe! Looks good for now, any plans down teh line? Thanks! Only a couple things: black painted calipers (coming soon before the 18s go back on), an Optima Red Top whenever the factory battery dies and possibly a TRD red powder coated strut bar. I am pretty much done with it and I am happy with it the way it is.
Very nice Vibe!Welcome!

Trust me, I know all the basics of HIDs. I have done plenty of reading on the subject. They're just not for me. End of story .
