Good times are here for both the Chevrolet Equinox and the Traverse crossover SUVs, as the bowtie brand is introducing a trio of special edition variants: the 2017 Equinox Midnight Edition and Sport Edition, and the 2017 Traverse Graphite Edition. What makes them so special? Read on.

Like a black-and-white cookie, the Equinox Midnight Edition and Sport Edition serve as the proverbial chocolate and vanilla frosting that’s poured over its $28,845 Equinox LT spongecake base. Both include the Convenience Package (automatic climate control, remote start, power heated front seats, and more) and start at $30,540. Both are sweetened with a black grille, black bowtie badges, black 18-inch wheels, black leather seats with memory settings, and black mirror caps and roof-rack cross bars. The Midnight Edition model is slathered in—you guessed it—black paint, while the Sport Edition’s body is coated in white.

Unlike the two Equinox special edition models, the Traverse Graphite Edition is available in four exterior colors: red, black, grey, and white. Starting life as a 2LT model, the $39,890 Graphite Edition comes with 20-inch grey wheels, black bowtie badges, step bars, a navigation system, a tow package, and the top-of-the-line Traverse Premier’s dual exhaust system that adds seven ponies to the large crossover’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine, resulting in a net output of 288 horsepower.
