My (almost) 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

I wanna take this Jeep off my dads hands for a few reasons...

1. I need a second car (my wife's tranny took a dump) we've been using the 6 ALOT!!!

2. I can keep it as my dd after I get the wifes tranny fixed

3. I can get it in payments from my pops (don't have THAT option anywhere else cause my credit = NO BUENO!!!

4. Tranny on the Jeep has recently been rebuilt

Now the only bad thing is that after my dad serviced the engine and put everything back the way it was... for those who don't know it had a blown piston (like a hole ontop of a piston... It now runs good and shifts good but shakes while at idle... timing and pressure have been check and seem to be fine.

What could this be? Any help is appreciated...

Almost forgot here are the pics...

I was talking the jeep guys I know they r saying the hole motor is probably bad unless he redid the hole motor

What year?? What motor??

Check the heads for cracks

You can't just fix one piston there has to be something that's caused it

Well start looking for a cracked head or something.. Local auto part stores carry a crackedetector lit but what I'm hearing is the motor is most likely motor is shot

What cylinder was it??

They said it's probably the head

If you get 95 heads they are better higher nickle content and better flow

99-01 had casting problems.

So were gonna replace the heads on the jeep... What years are compatible so I can look for one at the jy? I know you mentioned 95... Is it 95 and above that fit the 99's?

Yes. Get the 91- 95 are the better ones

99-01 had casting problems

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK REST OF ENGINE AND MAKE SURE NOTHING ELSE IS THE PROBLEM.

IT MIGHT JUST BE THE ENGINE IS SHOT BC OF THE PROBLEM!

My dad checked the compression and it was bad on the piston he replaced so he checked the heads and it has a crack... It runs smooth from a cold start but as soon as it gets hotter it starts to shake...
