Car and Driver: Refreshed 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Pricing Rises by $300-$900

Despite some relatively big changes under the hood, the refreshed Honda Accord hybrid‘s pricing structure doesn’t change much for 2017. Compared to the 2015 Accord hybrid (the hybrid skipped the 2016 model-year) the base price rises by $300, to $30,440—or $2225 more than an equivalently equipped, conventionally powered Accord EX with Honda Sensing.

-

For that extra dough, you get an updated gas-electric drivetrain that promises better performance and improved efficiency. Total system output is up 16 horsepower to a total of 212 hp, and EPA ratings go up to 49 mpg city, 47 mpg highway, and 48 mpg combined (taking into account the EPA’s new, lower 2017 mileage ratings). The Accord hybrid also gets new standard equipment, including a full suite of active safety features and remote start.

-

To get some of the other newly available features on the Accord hybrid, you’ll have to step up to one of the two upper trim levels, either the $33,740 EX-L that adds leather and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capabilities, or the $36,790 Touring that includes rain-sensing wipers, LED headlights, heated rear seats, and navigation.

We’ve yet to drive the revised Accord hybrid, but we’ll strap our test equipment to it soon to measure the effects of the powertrain changes. The refreshed gas-electric family sedan is on sale now.
