For any body guys, lets stick to cars...LOL, What do you prefer, Enamel or Lacquer?

Lacquer isn't even worth using these days.

Acrylic enamel FTW.

Its been so long since i shot any paint. Some guys were saying there are some options out there.

Depends on the car. If you are doing a concurs restoration and the car was shot in lacquer, you are going to shot lacquer. I will also say that while lacquer goes on very thin (compared to enamel) and requires more coats and clear coats making it much more labor and material intensive. Still you can not beat a lacquer finished when it is rubbed out. So far that reason, I won't throw lacquer under the bus.

That said, most enamel base coat/clear coats are the more acceptable way to go with modern cars and trucks, and with raw or properly prepared steel or aluminium.

I have used lacquer a couple times and it was damn easy to lay down. I think that we used 6 coats on my old truck. Also lacquer is cheap especially with some of the paint systems out there. Personally a lacquer black paint on laser straight panels all buffed out is better than free drinks at the strip club.

Another OL skool guy....Laquer....House of Colors.... Urethane top. Daily driver.... Go one or two step enamel. In keeping the stock look to my GTO it will be enamel.
