It's always a good idea for readers to approach any story like this with a healthy dose of skepticism. Over the years magazines have embarrassed themselves with bad predictions and readers have been assaulted by goofy drawings, but we've done our best not to cry wolf; our past predictions about both the '06 Dodge Charger and the '10 Camaro were pretty good forecasts, if not necessarily perfect line-for-line. Having said that, we are ready to come forward with our prediction for the '15 SRT 'Cuda-a collection of speculations that started as apparently random Internet rumors, and progressed to what we'll simply refer to as "tacit affirmation" by the very people who would know. Heck, there's even a reference to the '15 'Cuda on Wikipedia-so it must be true, right?

If Chrysler built it like this or similar to the '70 Cuda, I would buy it. I have always like the 'Cuda over the Challenger - ever since my hero worship of Don "The Snake" Prudohomme began with his Hot Wheels Cuda Funny Car back in the day.

too bad, Chrysler will never build it.

Rumors around here in Detroit are very strong that the Cuda name will return to Chrysler in the near future, perhaps at the expense of the Challenger - under the SRT8 image or brand - like the Viper. Clearly it will not return under the Plymouth name for sure.

If Chrysler resurrects a successful performance minded Plymouth model name like the 'Cuda or Barracuda AND has sales success with it, then it might give stodgyGM marketing execs a reason to resurrect names like GTO, Firebird, and 4-4-2. Mind you, it is just wishful thinking on my part at this point. However, I don't think GM will want to caught flatfooted.

I have heard that GM is going to bring brack the Grand National and GNX names for Buick in the near future too. Although I think these will be turbo charged 4-cylinders and not V6s. Rumor has it that the GN will be a single turbo and the GNX will be twin turbo'd.

Aren't they working on a TT version V6 for Caddy? That would be a prime candidate for a GNX IMO

I believe they are but it will be hugely expensive being a Cadillac. Obviously it will be a V-series vehicle so it will definitely be expensive. The GN and GNX were more affordable A-bodies back in the day. The GNX was definitely more expensive than the GN simply because of the intercooler and other unique components it had plus the limited number of GNXs to be produced.
