It's Gonna Get Wet Around Here

We are getting ready to deal with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl. Forecasters are saying the storm system will cut across lower Michigan starting around midnight tonight and then rain virtually all day long on Wednesday. The rain prediction is between 1.5" to 3.5" in my neck of the woods. Although locally heavy down pours could push the rain meter to closer to 6". Flood warnings are up. The state record for the most rain from a single storm is 6.07".

I don't think I am going to get my Challenger tomorrow, even if I finish the paperwork with the dealership. I don't feel like paddling it into the garage.

Maybe I could drive it home for you and give you some shifting lessons to knock off some rust from your shifting skills.  Promise to leave you some tire too.

I mean, it is a land yacht, right? :P

Good luck! Hopefully it won't flood ya guys. Saw what Beryl did to Texas and not fun but at least you guys have the continental USA to knock it down. Sounds like it still has a lot rain ammo left in the chamber though.

The Roadmonster is the true land yacht here. I will concede that the Challenger is heavy compared to Black Besuty. I’ll have to compare Lucy to the Challenger soon.

I got hit with torrential rain leaving work in Lansing this afternoon. My dress shirt and t-shirt got soaked walking the 100 yards between the building and the parking ramp.

I have a miniature lake in my backyard at the moment. A small river of water can be seen draining into the street between my house and my neighbor. The street also seems to flowing. I can see two tree branches have fallen down in the backyard as well.

It's still raining but I think it is suppose to stop raining in about 5 more hours. We have had some small wind gusts but we've not had any thunder or lightning or tornado watches/warnings. For that I am thankful.

My son's house lost power for a few hours today. Fortunately the sump pump crock didn't overflow or have his basement flood. Power is now back on.

Lot's of flooding here too.  Couple small branches, down. Looks like it's pretty much done. Time to bring the rollingrape home!

Son’s power came back on around 10-11 am. So no need to worry about the food or sump pump at his place.

Rain stopped around 3 pm. The River between houses is gone. The street has dried out. The lake in the backyard is starting to recede but I suspect it will be there for a few days.
