1972 Power Steering Pump Identification

Featured Replies

HI Everyone,

I replaced the power steering pump on our GTO a few years ago.  I kept the old one because I was sure it's the car's original pump.

I finally got around to cleaning it and I don't see a part number on it.  Does anyone know if they stamped the number on it?

As I cleaned the black paint off the pump, I discovered blue paint overspray that matches the engine's color.  I'm more convinced this is the car's original pump.

If it is, I'll rebuild it and put it back on the car.

Any guidance someone can offer is appreciated.
