Chrome rocker trim from the side view.  66/back is under the door, 67 trim is wider and is on the door bottom.  Tail lights  66 has 3 long slots, 67 has 4 rectangles.

67 was the 1st year to offer the hood tach as well.  Interior wise, 67 also offered the His/Hers HURST console shifter. With Walnut trim, 66 had a lighter wood trim.   Stiching in the seats makes them year unique as well.

Can anyone tell me besides the grill color, what distinguishes or what are differences in 66 and 67 goats?

The 66 grills are plastic. The 67 grill are metal (chain mail) looking.

Also the backup lights on a 66 are round and towards the ends of the bumper whereas 67's are rectangular and are closer to license plate.

There are a bunch more differences too. To many to list here 😁

Pretty decent article of the 66-67 GTOs

The 389 CID engine with three two bbl. Carburetors was discontinued at the end of the 1966 model year...All 1967 GTOs were equipped with the 400 CID engine and a single 4bbl. Carburetor...and could NOT be ordered from the factory with multiple Carburetors....

Also starting in 1967 All GM cars came from the factory with a Dual circuit Brake Master Cylinder (separate reservoir for the front and rear brakes)... And collapsible Steering columns...
