So far, I've been able to take off much of the small parts, but I still cant get the rest. How would I go about doing this?

What small parts?  Remove cap,  remove rotor,  remove points, remove condensor.  Replace with new parts in reverse order.  There is a hold down with a single bolt on the engine if you want to pull the distributor completely out.  TIP....magnetize your screwdriver.  Drop one of the tiny screws....your screwed.
