It’s a 93 Tran Am with the 5.7 motor. I’m missing the oil pressure sensor  from it mounting spot but the ones online look nothing like this thing. Also there is no other harness around.

Looks electrical, is that a metal case?   Was thinkin 02 sensor, but I have searched every electrical sensor for that motor and nothin looks like that.  Looks like it would attach like this, with a hold down clamp as it has a flange and ring seal on the bottom.  Is the car running??   Somebody here will know what it is, Justa not me.

It seems to be all rubber with some sort of heat tape. It runs but shoots oil when running. Stops once the key is off due to missing oil pressure regulator.

looks to me to be the top half of your oil pressure switch , here is a picture of a whole unit. the clue was the orange plastic justA above there its crimped to the steel nut. you will need to find where the rest of the switch is screwed into the block and remove it and buy a new one  not having ever owned a trans am my guess is to look near where your oil filter is screwed in :dancingpontiac:

Thank you. Just found out after work. Pulled the thread out and put the new one in. The old one seems to not have a harness and only has one wire while the new one has three. Bought a 3 wire harness made for it. Does anyone know which wire I would use to get an oil pressure reading?

that picture you posted is your loom to the switch and it should be a 3 wire plug

pull the plug off that old one and have a look at the plug, does it have 3 pin sockets?

I pulled the plastic sleeve back and saw just one wire. The boot seems to be part of the whole sensor. I pulled it with pliers and a piece just tore off. It didn’t seem to want to come off. I got one of these just in case.
