My 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate Station Wagon.

I am the very proud owner of a 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon. This car has been in our family since my dad Anthony (1927-1993) purchased it new in May 1974. The car was the main family hauler for family trips because there was nine of us and we  needed a nine passenger wagon. My dad had his trusty work horse 1967 Buick Special sedan that he bought new for going to work and shopping, the wagon was just for family trips. The wagon has the dependable 400 Chevy V-8 with four barrel and all the usual factory and dealer options. The car was always well taken care for, especially by me as a teen ager and into adulthood. When my dad sadly died of cancer (July 16, 1993), the wagon was left to me because my dad knew how much the car meant to me. When my dad died the wagon had just over 36,000 miles on it in 1993. As of January 2022 the wagon has just over 55,000 miles on it and that is from going to cars shows and cruise nights all over southern Ontario, Canada and parts of north eastern U.S.A. All the usual wear items on the wagon were tended to but in 1994 I went to town and pulled the engine to reseal everything and repaint everything under the hood. Other than that I added dual exhaust with turbo mufflers, added cruise control and went over the car front to back to makes sure the wagon would be reliable for safe cruising. In June 2001 I picked up first place in my class at the American Station Wagon Owners convention in Dearborn, Mich., U.S.A. The wagon is a complete joy to drive and has always been reliable but the gas mileage has always been frightening. I added dual exhaust, electronic ignition, radial tires and cruise control to help with the mileage and it did to a point. With 5400 pounds to haul around with a 400 V-8 four barrel I do not expect an economy car by no means. I love this car and it will always be in our family, no matter what. I have told everyone that when I die, if anyone dares sell this car. I will be back to haunt them with ball and chains for the rest of their lives.  I mean it. Thanks for listening and cheers.

I totally agree. It's a family heirloom.

I can think of another Canuckistani who would be drooling over this car right about now, the Professor!
