I have a computer and a library (a shelf with manuals) in my garage. The computer is for looking up parts that I cant find in a parts book on the shelf or looking up something I cant figure out. But there's just something about the feeling you get when leaning over a fender, flipping pages in a manual that cant be replaced. Sad, sad day.

Yup - I'm with you on that one Wrongway. Staring at a diagram of something and comparing it to what you have JUSTA ain't the same with a tablet or laptop.

i agree with you both, the old books are great, but are very limited.

how many times do you find your self on you tube working out what they didn't tell you in the manual?

Here is a classic example....

Wifes first mini was a R50, ( heap of junk with the variable chain drive auto trans)

The manual said if the power window doesn't work to replace the whole motor assembly.......mr your tube shows me that its a super common problem with that model and the fix, is to simply  wack the inner door panel just above the door handle and problem fixed !! ... well i watched the video... lol to myself, went to the car, hit it and whamo ! it worked and the bloody thing never miss behaved again ( trans did fail at 88000kms and it was going to be $4500 to fix, so i just sold the thing)😡
