I'm working on the mod list for my G6 now I've come to the problem of the Driver Information center (DIC). If I replace my head unit I will lose this unless I go with an aftermarket solution. I've been looking at two solutions (Links below). There has been a lot of conflicting information on these units. Anyone here have one or know someone that does? What's the scoop on them?

what are you confused about? and i think BAMBAMM has one.

People have said that you lose your remote start unless you have one, others have said you lose it even with one. I have heard the same thing about the whole fob being worthless. Others have indicated that the oil temp gauge doesn't work with out one of these units.

Basically I'm just not sure what is true and what isn't with one of these units. I do know I want one so I can keep the TPMS and oil life indicator.

If I do buy one, do I keep all of the functionality of the old integrated system?

You will not lose remote start or key don abilities. I replaced my radio with a newer addition and did not lose these abilities before I got the new one programmed. Although now that I recall I didn't try the remote start but it shouldn't be an issue

if you dont put one back on then you lose the oil life, trip a and b, change the lock/unlock with the shifter, language, outside temperature and i cant remember what else.

Ok. I'm definitely getting one when I redo the audio then.
